SEATTLE: "I am both Muslim and Christian"?
Shortly after noon on Fridays, the Rev. Ann Holmes Redding ties on a black headscarf, preparing to pray with her Muslim group on First Hill.

On Sunday mornings, Redding puts on the white collar of an Episcopal priest.

She does both, she says, because she's Christian and Muslim.

Redding, who until recently was director of faith formation at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, has been a priest for more than 20 years. Now she's ready to tell people that, for the last 15 months, she's also been a Muslim - drawn to the faith after an introduction to Islamic prayers left her profoundly moved. ...

Where in the scriptures did Jesus create a Catholic Church?

I'm very much aware that their jesus is not the Lord Jesus Christ of Scripture so much so that my stands against these things in my family (transubstantiation in particular) has cost me their wrath, even to denying me those things that sustain life, if the Lord had not been pleased to deliver me, and I trust he will continue to deliver me. They have escalated in recent days on another front hoping to get support for me from outside the family, against my conscience. Will I buckle in my understanding of the Truth?, not if He sustains me.

I face another questioner on Friday.

You did not however answer my question which was: Do they actually deny his humanity? Think about it.

Just Wondering
Please let us know how it goes with you.

Christianity and Islam are exclusive religions one can only be one, not both, but in this case this woman is neither. She does have a lot of common with Catholics apparently, Understanding Islam and Roman Catholicism. Episcopalism -- Catholic-lite

I am not worried about what RCs deny or don't.

Neither am I worried whether or not you might answer the questioners they recruit to their satisfaction, as in all likelyhood nothing, no matter how true or in how much love and reasonableness will matter to them.

WHAT IS IMPORTANT to me for you is that you be COVERED with the prayers of God's people. And may we do just that right now, through tonight and tomorrow however we are burdened to pray, and especially however the Spirit leads us.

Do take encouragement in Rom 8:28

In my observation: to remake God, especially to remake the Lord Jesus Christ into an image (crucifix) and likeness (little baby in his mother's arms) whom they do not have to obey

Their Jesus has to obey his mama, their remake of Mary
(supposedly holy from her conception to her supposed perpetual virginity)
so their jesus has to obey his mama and let them into heaven, she is after all in RCC Theology "Queen of Heaven" (mythology a far better word)
After of course supposedly being made fit for heaven after their time of suffering in purgatory

remaking their Mary into the unconditional loving mother who loves them no matter how evil their sins, similar to the (I hate to abuse the words) "motherly love" some earthly mothers have for their criminal children),

their jesus just being only the someone their Mary offered for their sin, who died on the cross that they have to consume from time to time in the Eucharist
(their jesus is only in their belly for about 15 minutes until he disolves)

In their minds their jesus could not possibly have had a sinful earthly mother or he would have been defiled by her sinfulness

The word "and" indicates more than one no? What about Matthew 27:46 and John 10:29 by the way?

One church yes. Where do you get this idea of many branches?

John Yurich only please.

I believe it is safe to say anyone reading the exchanges of posts we have had here on SermonAudio can tell we are not in anykind of agreement as to who a genuine born again believer and follower of Jesus Christ is.

That said, you are correct, in this you wrote:
"It is an impossibility for anybody to be both a Muslim and a Christian simultaneously."

HERE is the point I want to make,
this news story is almost 7 years old
BUT this kind of thought to seek to have it both ways continues with us today.

It reminds me of the comment by the late Dave Hunt in his book: A Woman Rides the Beast (The Roman Catholic Church and the Last Days)
he wrote:
"An Antichrist "Christianity" must be created which embraces all religions and which all religions will embrace - precisely what is occuring today with astonishing speed."

Two quick examples
CCC 841 regarding Muslims and Catholics adoring the same god

The document: Loving God and Neighbor Together
signed by Rick Warren and others promoting the lie that Jehovah and Allah are the same God.

Reality(?)
841 of the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Religion offically endorsed by the late John Paul II states that Catholics and Muslims worship the same god.

The come out from among them certainly applies to the Roman Catholic Religion.

Mike, you make your claims like everybody else without any knowlede. Come out from among them is all the christians in the muslim lands. They are all persecuted in the those lands. Just put islam beast into google and you will see websites that use scripture to back up there claims. Also truthlover gave an exceptional website www.benkeshet.com follow his directions and read at minimum the top two selections and then read psalm 83 ten invaders. Islam absolutely is the beast if you have eyes to see love the truth and are a true berean.
Also I know many catholics and there is no way they will kill people or cut off there heads if they don't become catholics. Not in these modern times but that is exactly what islam has done in the past and continues to do today. Allah is satan and islam denies the father and the son. That is called the antichrist spirit.

Reality? North Florida

Sorry I cannot agree with you regarding Islam being the Great Whore of Revelation. Consider briefly it makes no sense to say...."Come out of her My people" if it were Islam for there is such a stark difference and animosity between Islam and even an veneer of Christianity yet if you consider Catholicism they believe Jesus is the Son of God, that He was born of a virgin, that He died on the cross, that He was raised from the dead and from these truths they go awhoring embracing apparitions of a being claiming to be His mother, bowing to the priest's who supposedly can make their eucharist into the literal body and blood of Christ and of course I could go on.

As to the apostates within evangelicalism one of the great marks in them is they are joining with or heading to Rome in there false beliefs, teachings and fellowship and it is in exposing the falseness of the Catholic Religion that we might deal with the Benny Hinns etc as all apostasy leads to Rome.

Will the Islamic nations be against Israel sure and so will the other nations of the world too, even the US if it still exists.

BTW as a former never to be again Roman Catholic I was taught the Pope wants world domination and this has been what that religion has been working to get.

People have been told for so long that the Catholic church is the beast that they actually believe it but the truth is islam is the beast in the book of revelation. Almost all churches today are filled with false teaches and apostate. We protestants can't throw stones at the catholics anymore. Can you say Benny Hinn, Creflo Dollar. Wake up to the fact that islam wants world domination and wants to destroy Israel. They are the beast that Jesus will come back and destroy in Zechariah 14. Thank God for this wonderful online ministry. The truth can still be proclaimed here.
