You could take a lesson from my Born Again Non Denominational brother who does not preach against the Catholic Church or any other church that acknowledges the Deity Of Christ and the Holy Trinity. Since when is it idolatry to simply own a statue of the Virgin Mary, pictures of the Virgin Mary and the Saints, a couple of Crucifixes and a couple of pictures of Christ(And yes I know that nobody knows for certain what Christ looked like) if they are not prayed to or bowed down to? Idolatry is the praying to and bowing down to statues and pictures and images of the Virgin Mary, the Saints and Christ.

I have dispensed with the unscriptural RCC doctrines and the unscriptural parts to the Mass and thus I have repented. I believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith in Christ alone. I do not believe in praying to and bowing down to statues and pictures of the Virgin Mary, the Saints and Christ and Crucifixes. But it is not idolatry to simply own a statue of the Virgin Mary, pictures of the Virgin Mary and the Saints and picture of Christ and a Crucifix. I do not believe in Papal Infallibility and thus I have repented. I participate only in the scriptural parts to the Mass. And making the sign of the cross is not unscriptural because if it was then Luther would never had retained the practice of making the sign of the cross in the Lutheran Church because Luther had received Christ as his Savior. And I still believe that there are 7 Sacraments but I do not believe that they have anything to do with salvation. I believe that the Sacraments are just church ceremonies dealing with various stages in life.
To John Yurich, Great question. I would ask you to consider the role of repentance and of faith in salvation. If one is Catholic and saved, would not he or she repent of the many false elements of worship and belief of Roman Catholicism? They would need to believe in salvation by grace alone, faith alone, Scripture alone, and Christ alone. Yet, these are all modified by Catholicism. He would have to repent of the images, Papal authority, the seven sacraments (there are only two), the mass, signing with the sign of the Cross, etc. etc. What is faith in God? What is repentance? Those are the questions that the "born again' Catholic needs to ask.

There is a pastor I know, who's mother went to a billy Graham Crusade in Philly. She was a Roman Catholic, and went forward during the invitation. She was asked what she was, and upon telling them she was Catholic, they turned her to the Catholic priest. he priest told her she was fine, and sent her to do some hail Mary's. It wasn't until some time later that she repented and was saved. And accounts like this are numerous. Please tell me how the Holy Spirit would lead a man to operate his crusade this way? Not to mention that his crusades are not under the authority of a local church, and he himself, from what I know, which may be wrong, is not under the authority of a pastor. How is this any worse than Benny Hin and the like? Also, you will find in some information that Graham is a 32nd degree Mason...figures!
JY I agree with you on this one. Jim I went to that web site and I agree with Billy Graham when he says that there ... Pastor Tony Evans went on a mission group in South Africa one time with many of his supporters and he was preaching the Gospel (with an interpreter) and as soon as he mentioned the name of Jesus Christ someone who had never seen a Bible before replied back to Tony "So thats his name" God is the one who draws us to himself, it is not us who draws God to us. And if any of you think that just because someone is a Catholic they can not be saved then you need to study Gods word more and quit being so self rightous. Its not about what you think or feel.

But why don't you consider anybody a Christian who remains in the Roman Catholic Church or Eastern Orthodox Church or Mainline Protestant Churches after they became Born Again by praying to Christ and asking Him to become their Savior? Who says that everybody who becomes Born Again has to belong to a Fundamentalist Protestant Church? In otherwords if someone who becomes Born Again does not join a Fundamentalist Protestant Church then they will not gain entrance into Heaven?

The above quotation from the article showing Billy being the chaplain to the rich and powerful, is just another thing he did when he stepped away from the pulpit, which made him a flawed evangelist. It is up to Christ to determine what sort of Christian he is.
