What do you MEAN I'm not going to die?
LONDON (Reuters) - A British man who went on a wild spending spree after doctors said he only had a short time to live wants compensation because the diagnosis was wrong and he is now healthy -- but broke.

John Brandrick, 62, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two years ago and told that he would probably die within a year.

He quit his job, sold or gave away nearly all his possessions, stopped paying his mortgage and spent his savings dining out and going on holiday.

Brandrick was left with little more than the black suit, white shirt and red tie that he had planned to be buried in when it emerged a year later that his suspected "tumor" was no more than a non-life threatening inflammation of the pancreas. ...

Too bad I'm not a pastor, huh? (Actually, that's probably for the better)

Publican,

It's nothing that hasn't been done before.

Robert Maxwell made a great play about his children making their own way without the benefit of an inheritance.

Of course, he managed to achieve this in more ways than one. "After his death investigators discovered that Maxwell had propped up his empire by diverting hundreds of millions of pounds from pension funds and other sources. It was a major financial fiasco, and Maxwell's empire was dissolved and sold off in the following years."

Strangely, his many children still seemed to do quite well for themselves from what I can recall.

Oh yeah, that's tough. I remember one time, when I was like 8 years old, when I was heartbroken because I spent all of my money on video games and couldn't buy a candy bar.

What an idiot

Publican, that is probably true, Tolstoy, wanted to give all of his property away at the end of his life, but his wife wouldn't have it. No matter, a few years later after he died, the Communists took it anyway.

Mm hmm. I'm going to assume that this is a single man, with no family or friends.

Life is tough ain't it?

Luke 12
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, [and] be merry.
20 But God said unto him, [Thou] fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? {thy...: Gr. do they require thy soul}
21 So [is] he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Now, this guy thought much the same way, he had more goods than he had time, he would be fortunate if he thinks about what is really important.
