Move Over Martin Luther, a Reformation of the 21st Century is Now Upon Us
Denver, Colorado - April, 19 2007 - In the spring of 2005, Matthew Fox, a priest who was silenced by the Vatican and eventually expelled from the Dominican Order, hammered 95 theses for a New Reformation to the door of Castle Church in Wittenberg Germany. This came 500 years after Martin Luther pounded his religion-changing theses on the same door, setting off the Protestant reformation. Now the face of religion is being challenged again as supporters of Matthew Fox's writing on Creation Spirituality take heed to the challenge of a New Reformation and create ecumenical churches and spiritual communities.

Creation Spirituality Communities, Inc (CSC) is a new non-profit organization incorporated in Colorado with an international Board and constituency. CSC envisions a network of communities that practice what Matthew Fox coined "Creation Spirituality." Creation Spirituality is based on the deeply ...

Mr. Fox is a wolf in "sheeps" clothing! No doubt there will be those people who hanker after a religion of human achievement that embraces anybody's version of spirituality while going on blindly to be led into a ditch that doesn't lead to Heaven.

To further the streetpreacher's thoughts...

I would say that it has been many a man's formal education that has totaly and completely stripped him of his belief in God's true word. This practice of Bible correcting is seen all to often on this very site.

I am sure the Lord is pleased though, with all the brilliant modern-day scholars... (blunt sarcasm for those with too much education to understand).

why no revival?

Just wanted to make a comment about the educational comments.

John Bunyon
Charles Spurgeon
Hudson Taylor

And probley many more men were just preachers of the gospel but yet did not go to Bible college.

I am not against a training at a seminary but some of the greatest teachers have been preachers who were layman called by God.

May God be glorified and magnified in our thoughts speech and actions each day...

True, we should embrace formal learning when opportunity permits, yet that in itself is not enough to ensure sound & godly leadership; character matters a great deal, but teachers can rarely affect that.

Yes ..... even those reformed people who believe in church-based training are setting up a lot of seminaries these days, which must be staffed up by "doctors" proleptically or prochronically to give them credibility.

Of course, nothing wrong in itself with robust academic education and it's certainly a lot better than church-based programmes where everything is dependent on the whim or opinion of one unaccountable man.
Which of course, also is a longterm downside for those who "graduate" from church based training - what value has an accreditation from your buddy got?

A press release by the looks of it.

"Current Board members ... all hold Doctor of Ministry Degrees"

Wave those credentials around! You can't be an effective false prophet w/o playing this card, since even Fundies & Reformed also give obesiance to the man with that scrap of paper from BJU, Pensacola, or Westminster.

Very good point 'Watching the eastern sky' about co-combatants not making allies. This trap is very easy to fall into these days.

What an insult to the great German reformer. Luther would have grabbed this lousy heretic by the throat and thrown him out of the church. But then the established lutheran churches have gone the way of all apostate churches of our day. Just reading Fox's gibberish is nauseating.

Ecumenical Hogwash:
A co-combatant does not an ally make. Just like Catholics being co-combatants against abortion, yet they are not Christians. (Until you get the doctrine of Salvation correct you cannot be a Christian…by Grace alone, through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, not of works lest anyone should boast.) This movement, just because it is against Popish Catholicism, does not an ally or reformation make. The true reformation is going on in mainstream religion where “experiential” hype is being replaced by a return to biblical doctrines. Doctrines that were declared amongst the early church; the foundation of Jesus Christ built upon by biblical doctrines. Doctrines that were declared not debated! We do not need unity with the humanistic worldview, we need unity in the Body of Christ through obedience to God’s Holy Word. O-b-e-d-i-e-n-c-e more than sacrifice. Obedience.

some of Mr. Fox's theses:

23 Sexuality is a sacred act and a spiritual experience, a theophany (revelation of the Divine), a mystical experience. It is holy and deserves to be honored as such.

* Non determinant regarding who is involved in this "experience."

29 No matter how much the television media fawn over the pope and papacy because it makes good theater, the pope is not the church but has a ministry within the church. Papalolotry is a contemporary form of idolatry and must be resisted by all believers.

*People, don't be fooled by the Pope and his ministry. Believe Fox's!

32 Original sin is an ultimate expression of a punitive father God and is not a Biblical teaching. But original blessing (goodness and grace) is biblical.

John Calvin was wrong?!?!? You mean, I wasted several hundred dollars to get Calvin's Institutes on CD-Rom? Awww!

35 The Spirit of Jesus and other prophets calls people to simple life styles in order that “the people may live.”

*Jesus is not LORD and KING and SAVIOUR but just a prophet?!?!?

44 The central chakra, compassion, is the test of the health of all the others which are meant to serve it for “by their fruits you will know them” (Jesus).
*Where can I buy a CHAKRA detecto

Luther sought debate about God's truth, not to start a movement.

Seems like Matthew Fox is seeking a publicity stunt to start a movement with no regard for truth.

NOTE: The reformation of Luther was a Godly movement inspired by a love of truth. This new 'reformation', as it is the work of the apostate Matthew Fox, and as it promotes the lies of eastern mysticism, is a fraud. We should not compare them except as wheat and chaff are compared.

"And the new reformation will acknowledge the wisdom that emanates from ALL the world’s spiritual traditions, knowing in authentic humility that no one culture and no one way is the only path to the Source."

Sounds like a pantheon based on the UNs agenda 21. A new kabaa if you will.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes the the father but by me."

"With spirituality the basis of a New reformation, indeed, a New Renaissance, a re-birth of humanity is once again possible. A vision that is earth-conscious and earth-honoring; a vision that is justice oriented at the levels of economic justice, gender justice, social justice and political justice. A vision of compassion therefore that alone will render us humans and our planet sustainable."

This is the infamous Social Gospel of Liberalism.

The 16th century Reformation was produced by God.

The above ideology is produced by the sinner.
