He is 88, bent by age and ailments, spending his days sitting with his beloved bedridden wife, Ruth, at their home in the mountains of North Carolina.
Yet the stature of the Rev. Billy Graham continues to grow. In December, the Gallup Poll named him among the 10 most admired men in the world.
Graham, who has made only a few personal appearances in the past years, rarely grants interviews. He spoke to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune -- by e-mail, because of his poor health -- and reflected on his desire to see heaven soon, his concerns about the war in Iraq and the changes taking place in American evangelism....
Middle East Believer Thank you for this account of God's love for our Arab and Jewish brethren and like you I praise Him for it. My wife and I will go (with confidence) to the throne of grace in prayer on behalf of your region and all who should be saved therein. Praise the Lord who does all things well.

Muslims and Catholics for that matter may both FALSELY claim to worship the Creator but they don't. They both worship an idolatrous imitation that is quite different from the Only True and Living God, the God of the Bible.
Which also begs the question is Catholicism of God? or of the Devil?
A believer from the Middle East, and for others for that matter -- I found a very interesting commentary,
"Is Allah the God of the Bible?" A quotation from the above,"The God the Qur'an talks about is the same. And Muslims do worship this one and only Creator God. The question is not whether Muslims and Christians have the same God [there is only one Creator after all], the question is if their book is FROM this God which it claims to be from. Without question: The Qur'an speaks ABOUT God, but is it FROM God?"
http://www.answering-islam.org/God/same.html
It is a non-rancorous article, and you and other may find it helpful.
Let me ask you this question. Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God? Said another way is Islam of God or of the Devil?
The Roman Catholic Religion that the Billy Graham Evangelistic Assoication has joined itself too offically claims that they do and are a religion of the True God. It is in the Catechism of the Catholic Church 841. You can if your are willing look up this heartbreaking blasphemy for yourself and then ponder how could any child of God make such a statement or join with those who do.
Then you might also what happens to those who come forward at one of these events? are they directed to a solid Bible believing church or to the false Roman Catholic one?
Last Week during Easter Season 2 Satellite Tv stations plus a regular one have put 5 days of Billy Graham s preaching(Lebanon and the Middle East)in Arabic voice translator(second coming-forgiveness-resurrection-Jhon 3:16),the advertisement was daily in Lebanon s Newspapers...in the same month hundreds of thousands of the SAmaritan s Purse Gifts were distributed in Lebanon
Regarding the "The 5- to 15-minute "Gospel presentation":
A Billy Graham "crusade" meeting is, at best, an afternoon or evening affair -- with a very large turnout, perhaps three to four hours pass from the time you drive into the stadium parking lot until the time you drive out of the lot.
Once the show inside starts, it lasts at the very most two hours, most of which is devoted to music, announcements, and "testimonials" by prominent guests.
Once Billy Graham comes to the podium and begins to speak, he speaks at the very most for an hour, most of which is spent reciting anecdotes which have no direct bearing on the Gospel. And, because of the poor acoustics (much echo) of the typical stadium, Graham is talking very slowly. And there typically are interruptions by applause from the audience.
After the anecdotes and pauses are edited out, there typically is only five to fifteen minutes of meaningful communication, much of which is full of doctrinal error.
The presentation itself fits easily into the available 15 to 20 minutes of a nominal half-hour television broadcast.
Finally, one has to wonder if Billy doesn't fall under this admonition in his chase for fame?
Matthew 16 26 For what does a man profit, if he should gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Proverbs 17:15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.
Not exactly sure where you were coming from in your statement. Are you for the Grahams? or is it that you just didn't like someone qiving a quote?
Anyway I will tell you where I am coming from in quoting Proverbs 17:15 as a former Roman Catholic I know both from having studied the Scriptures regarding whether or not Catholicism is a valid form of Christianity and from personal experience of what they teach and do not teach those holding to Roman Catholic Teachings are not Christians as opposed to those holding to what God Himself in Scripture reveals of Jesus Christ who He is and what He requires of us and believe in Him accepting Him on His terms who are.
Billy Graham has joined with these spiritually adulterous idolaters (as very heinous sin against God, read the 10 Commandments) and praises them, especially John Paul II.
This is a wicked and heartbreaking sin and a huge stumbling blocks to Catholics to come to salvation.
Consequently those who continue to promote Billy Graham are likewise justifying the wicked. It really is an issue that doesn't allow neutrality and indifference for a child of God being faithful to Christ.
Does your quotes of Billy Graham help anybody? Did you try to tell us any of his scripture quotes, so you could quickly label such as covetous lucre? So many preachers preaching Sermons preached for lucre's sake, it's a shame, that people will not listen to the poor Elias. Do you think Christ has chosen the riche of this world to be heirs of the faith? With Love shooting arrows down at hate In Jesus Christ as chosen Romans 8:25-28 but and if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience abide for it. 26 ¶ Likewise the spirit also helpeth our infirmities. For we know not, what to desire as we ought: but the spirit maketh intercession mightily for us with groanings which cannot be expressed with tongue. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the meaning of the spirit: for he maketh intercession for the saints according to the pleasure of God. 28 For we know well that all things work for the best unto them that love God, which also are called of purpose
I don't agree with Mr. Graham, but when did he ever hold 5 or 15 minute Gospel presentations? Seems to me his programs were much longer, like one or two hours. Expositor, where's the time frame in the Bible? In the book of Acts Phillip and the Eunuch discuss a few things in what sounds like a rather short period and the eunuch believed.
"God loves the homosexual just as much as the heterosexual, and so should we."
So says Billy Graham, in response to people who focus on homosexuality more than other sins (like Fred Phelps).
But this statement has virtually NO convicting power in it to save anybody, much less a hard-core homosexual. As written, it may even ENCOURAGE the homosexual that his "lifestyle" is somehow acceptible to God and his people.
I'd rather he said God will CONDEMN the homosexual just as much as he will the heterosexual unless they BOTH repent of ALL their sins, including homosexuality, and believe on Christ.
Quote from expositor: "Unless and until a person has at least some familiarity with these matters, he cannot act intelligently upon the Gospel."
?!?!?!?!?!? Intelligently? How much intelligence? Where is this in the New Testament?
Then I'd say nobody is saved till they hear and believe expositor. Sorry, that's not the Gospel. It's summed up nicely by the Apostle Paul as the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and "through his name, whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins through his name."
And that, expositor, acts as a vaccine against the true gospel for many people. They become inoculated with just enough to think they’ve “got it”. And when you go back to them 10 years later and ask them if they are Christians and try to speak to them about saving faith in Jesus Christ they might say “Yep. Done that!” and then change the subject.
The Gospel message found in the Bible speaks of a number of vital matters, including government, a king, a kingdom, a way of life, entrance into that way of life, sacrifice, testing, endurance, sin, the penalty of sin, imputation of sin, atonement, justification, imputation of righteousness, sanctification, the nature of the flesh, the nature of the spirit, and resurrection.
Unless and until a person has at least some familiarity with these matters, he cannot act intelligently upon the Gospel.
The time required to impart to someone an understanding of the Gospel sufficient to enable him to respond to the Gospel and enter into the Way of Life depends upon the background of the individual. For someone who is well-versed in the Scripture, perhaps an hour is sufficient. For the typical man on the street in contemporary America, an entire day might not be sufficient.
The 5- to 15-minute "Gospel presentation" made in one night of a Billy Graham "crusade" is not the Gospel message, and it imparts no benefit. Rather, the presentation does harm, for many people go away falsely thinking that they have been "saved" and are followers of Christ Jesus.
MJ, your comment is striking with resonance. I thought almost exactly the same when as a young Christian I saw his father preach at Earls Court around 20 years ago. Back then I didn't understand his wholesale sellout to apostasy. I thought it must have just been me as well, and then I found other Christian friends said they felt the same way and the truth began to be revealed. Tragic.
I saw Franklin Graham at Telstra Dome in Melbourne, Australia in 2005. What struck me was, his presentation was very weak and I didn't get anything out of it... He told us all the story of the prodigal son. Sure, it affected others and some gave their life there, but he wasn't really a good preacher. However, I still believe it was worth it though if some of the people in the crowd became Christians.
Cbcpreacher, I agree with you. Said another way he has already fallen and is taking many with him - it just looks soooo right to them.
But isn't this the judgment/condemnation that light has come into the world and men loved darkness rather than the light.
Off to thirds once again. Talk about something that shows you how much we need God DAILY!!! not the counterfeits men are being given by well dressed religious celebraties, apostates and compromisers.
Michael Hranek, unfortunately, there are many people still sitting in our fundamentalist, separatist churches whom would be matter than a bald-headed hippy about us criticizing (or exposing) Billy Graham. He is seen as an untouchable, and some have exalted him above the Lord Jesus and His Word. We should learn, never put a man on a pedastal because when he falls, he often takes many with him.
Cbcpreacher from NY I think it was here on SA that I first heard anyone and I think it was Ian Paisley dare to critize Billy Graham.
I was absolutely shocked!
I.P. accused him of joining with Roman Catholics! How dare anyone make such a claim. His comments and those of others eventually led me to email the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and they confirmed it for me in their own words when they eventually emailed me back.
In my humble observation it is the embracing of men like Billy Graham by the churches of our country and many more sins such as this against the Lord Jesus Christ that so defile us and make those who are born again objects of the Father's discipline is why we see our churches and our nation is such a wretched mess and why the ecumenical/interfaith false religion of The Coming and probably soon to be reveal Antichrist is so florishing.
Thing you and every child of God that is growing in Christ will undoubtedly have no trouble comprehending even thought it breaks our hearts and brings us to weep before God for our own sins and those of others.
