'Gay' cleric: Christ did not die for sin
Church of England traditionalists, wearied by the battles over homosexuality in the church and the clergy, are about to take it on their spiritual chins once again when a leading "gay" cleric will tell listeners to BBC Radio 4 that Christianity's traditional teaching on Christ's crucifixion for the sins of mankind is "repulsive," "insane" and makes "God sound like a psychopath."

Rev. Jeffrey John, who was forced to withdraw before assuming a position as bishop in 2003 after it was learned he was in a longterm homosexual relationship, is scheduled to appear on Wednesday and will criticize ministers who use their Easter messages to preach that Jesus was sent to earth to die as an atonement for sin, reported the London Telegraph. ...

Hey your perverted and distorted opinion on what you think Christ Jesus did or did not do for mankind on the Cross has no bearing. We as followers and believers in Jesus as SAVIOUR is what counts. Gays can be saved if they repent of their gay activities and kneel and ask Christ for forgiveness. For all are welcome to the Cross, Christ Jesus delivers and can set prisioners free, even those who believe such a lie.

The reason why, Al, posts like yours are generally the last ones concerning any given issue, is because it is making an appeal to the truth. I have seen our hardness of heart and acerbity of speech, hinder the gospel.
Sadly, in preaching the gospel of His grace, we are shaking more and more dust off of our feet. However, we are still to do our duty, whether or not any else does theirs. Preach the pure Word of God, Al; in season and out. Good, solid post. I always look forward to such as these.

Dear Mike,
The promotion of such things shows that the church of Jesus Christ is failing and the banner of the cross is faltering. To hold the banner high, we as God's people must prepare the soil of our hearts. Then we can sow in righteousness and reap in mercy. Then we can go as faithful witnesses sowing the seed on the hearts of lost souls and water it or have other brethren water it and then let God give the increase in the salvation of such people. This being the last time should not shock us with such unbelief being as rampant as it is . The Church of Jesus Christ is reaping the sowing of unbelief. It always ends up in liberal or liberalistic ideas which lead to a hedonistic and sometimes perverted views of the person of Jesus Christ and lifestyles to match. The Answer? Preach the old doctrines of salvation by faith more earnestly , prayerfully , and in the power of the Holy Spirit, having a heart that God can bless and a life that is surrendered to that use. It may seem simplistic but I am sure that this is the answer that would bring back the revival that is now dead in the church

Faithful Remnant, unfortunately, we know that neither one of those things will happen. The Bible clearly tells us that in the last days, people will have itching ears and will listen to only what they want to hear. It also tells us that people will be lovers of pleasures MORE THAN lovers of God. Notice, it doesn't say INSTEAD OF, it says MORE THAN. They will keep their sinful lifestyle AND God. This shows the truth of the Bible where it says, "having a FORM of godliness, but denying the power therof". Thsi really shouldn't surprise us. Let's agree with the apostle John, Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Yes, it's weak, that's for sure. They should either expel these kind of supposed "pastors" or re-write their original confession of faith to omit the part about the authority of the Scriptures alone for the church's life. It would be best to expel the doubting gay cleric. It would be in his interest to repent and be freed of such a lifestyle. Then he'd know true happiness and peace with God instead of rebellion against God.

That this man can remain a cleric in the Church of England is stupefying to me. Weak, weak leadership.

I remember how angry the Holy Spirit was at the millenium celebration in the dome when the Archbishop of Canterbury said a prayer that did not even include the NAME of Jesus.

I give up on the Church of England. I must be deeply suspicious of this 'so called' church.

I don't know Mike. Maybe you should take him up into the Adirondacks. Maybe he'd get a clearer view of the truth . Of course the truth might make him sad, but "godly sorrow worketh repentance." I think that's what this happy cleric needs.

'Gay' cleric: Christ did not die for sin

Who's he trying to kid? It is testified of Jesus: "He shall save his people from their sins," and "Without the shedding of blood is no remission," and a host of other scriptures.

"These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes." The world (and the average Christian for that matter) see God's patience and long suffering as weakness. The world looks at God's lack of lightenings and thunderings as weakness on His part and they are emboldened to blaspheme even more. They are storing up wrath against the day of wrath. O that God would give us (Born Again believers) the burden, the tears, and the broken hearts to seek God's face and plead mercy for our nations and peoples. Rail against the sin yes, but let it break our hearts and flood our eyes as it did Jeremiah of old! Let Daniel chapt. 9 be our prayer as well. The problem is not in the world acting out its natural inclinations, but in the lack of true Christians willing to be broken hearted for that world of sin. Have we not the heart of Christ within us? Hear Jesus words, "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!" O Father,give us a burden to reach this generation with your gospel. O LORD help us!

Gal 5:19 "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,"

As God has taught us "heresies" go along with "fornication, uncleanness and lasciviousness"
So I suppose its no surprise that the effeminate Jeffrey spouts heresy!!!

I note in the article that this clown also does not accept the God of Wrath!!

Romans 1:18 "For the WRATH OF GOD is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness"

Of course we can read in this chapter that the natural conclusion of this verse is Jeffrey's little abomination
= 24 "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie,.....
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections:"

Jeffrey is going to Hell.

Romans 1:26-28 speaks; "For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;"

........................ Very Good !!!

THE WORD Of THE LORD That Was Given To Jeremiah Is Applicable Today ---

Jer. 6:10, 15, 16 ........... (using the NIV this time)
10) To whom Can I SPEAK And GIVE WARNING ?
Who WILL LISTEN TO ME ?
Their ears are CLOSED
so they CANNOT HEAR.
THE WORD Of THE LORD is offensive to them;
they find NO PLEASURE IN IT.

15) Are they ASHAMED of their LOATHSOME CONDUCT ?
NO, they have NO SHAME at all;
they Do NOT Even KNOW HOW To BLUSH.
So they Will FALL Among The FALLEN;
they Will Be BROUGHT DOWN When I PUNISH them.
.......................... SAYS THE LORD.

16) This Is What THE LORD SAYS:
Stand at the crossroads and LOOK;
Ask For THE ANCIENT PATHS,
Ask Where THE GOOD WAY IS, And WALK IN IT,
And you WILL FIND REST For your Souls.
But you said, 'We Will NOT WALK IN IT'.

Think about Hilary Clintons absolute statement about homosexuality -- "Homosexuality ISN'T IMMORAL". And a short time after that statement she had the AUDACITY to go to Houston, Texas and speak in the Pulpits of local Churches bashing G. W. Bush.

The lie "Seperation of Church and State" only applies at their behest. Hm

DOUBLE STANDARD ??? Can you say Enough IS ENOUGH ???

CBC,
Very true. Preaching on sin and holiness is lacking. We need practical holiness, not just positional holiness. Such will come with awarness and confession of sin and a beseeching of sanctification and that "holiness without which no one may see the Lord."

If I may carry this thought on a bit more, christianity in America, and some other places, has so focused on God's love and mercy, that we have forgotten about His holiness and justce. We are commanded to be holy as He is holy. We are called to be separate from this world even while being in it. I have to admit, I am becoming thoroughly disgusted with MOST of what I see in contemporary christianity. It even bothers me to see how flippant and shallow christians can be sfter a service where God has obviously moved by His Spirit. People laugh and talk during prayer. Some sleep during the preaching of the Word. Others jsut zone out until the service is over. When will we realize the awesomeness of the God we serve? Israel was afraid to approach the mountain because of God's presence. Isaiah realized his unworthiness when he saw God in His holiness. Peter fell down as worthless when he saw the risen Christ. In America we have made God someone who is on our level. He is our "buddy". Preachers need to start preaching about who God is in ALL of His glory and holiness. People may get offended and leave. I would rather see religious folks leave our churches than have God and His presence depart. Pray for revival!

Why bring in more people to just make them like most of the professing church?
You have said that well. Yes! We need a revival of holiness. Oh! May God grant it and no matter what disciple He must use/bring about in our lives it will be more than worth it!

Michael Hranek, once again, you hit the nail right on the head-"With the likes of so much of what the homosexuals or other sinners see in the church today why wouldn't they be emboldened to blaspheme God?" The visible church is definitely to blame for the way the world disregards God. So many churches lack ANY awe and reverence towrad our God. Look at MOST of "christian" tv and you will see that it's true. Famous preachers publicly sin and return to their pulpits without a bit of remorse. Pew sitters go to church on Sunday and live like hell the rest of the week; and we condemn the world and unsaved preachers like this man for disrespecting God! What a joke! We've mentioned the need for revival in the church, and I've stated that I think it needs to be a revival of holiness. Why bring in more people to just make them like most of the professing church? We need a move of God that will put Him back on His throne and His fear in our lives. Remember, the fear of the Lord is the BEGINNING of wisdom.

I've consistently found that virtually all 'criticisms' of God
by un-Godly people are worthless, simply because they see God
(consciously or unconsiously) as a mere person like them, only
bigger and more powerful than they are.

Rather than go to the Bible to find out who God really is & what
He's like (granted, Holy Spirit's power is ultimately needed to
be able to do this--even with Bible in hand), they proceed to
project their own nature, sin, and limited human authority onto Him;
and then judge Him for being "out of bounds" for excercising his
sovereign will in the affairs of men.

It's crazy, like this homosexual clergyman who calls God "psycopath",
because He doesn't meet his own fallen and flawed expectations of
what a "loving" God is supposed to be like.

Faithful Remnant,
As those who God has brought to salvation out of our sins and out of Catholicism and the influence Catholic families can have on us we have much to be thankful to God for.

It is always an encourgement to me to hear former Catholics testify how God has brought them to salvation.

May we pray for many more, many, many more.
