Germans planning to reverse the decision that let Hitler run for power
Adolf Hitler should be stripped of German citizenship, according to MPs from the state that awarded it to him 75 years ago, aiding his rise to power.
The MPs hope such a move will bring redemption for the city of Braunschweig which, they claim, has been wrongly blamed for appointing Hitler as a civil servant on February 26, 1932. The appointment made Hitler, who was born in Austria, a German national, meaning he could run in the presidential election a few weeks later.
The city ‚Äúkeeps getting labelled as the place that helped Hitler get his German citizenship‚ÄĚ, said Isolde Saalmann, a local MP. ‚ÄúBut the city was Social Democrat at the time.‚ÄĚ It was the state of Braunschweig, which was a Nazi stronghold and which was replaced by Lower Saxony after the war, that had turned Hitler into a German, she said. ‚ÄúThat should be clarified. This is in no way intended as a way to belittle history by saying...
Germany's problems didn't start with Hitler, and they didn't end with him either. *That* is what they need to deal with. Whether it's the Kaiser, the SDP, CDU, CSU, Greens, or NSDAP (Nazis), the Prussian/German problem (which is now ours) has always been the same: the state is their Messiah. And I do not think it's a coincidence that they embraced Erastianism in their churches.
Every American should read de Tocqueville's "Democracy in America," to appreciate how different decentralized American liberalism originally was, esp. to European eyes.
In 2 Samuel 22, Israel had been going through a famine for 3 years because of Saul's sin years earlier of trying to exterminate the pact - protected Gibeonites. God didn't remove the famine until that sin had been dealt with justly. Nations are often held accountable for their leaders' sins. That isn't good news for our country, the USA.
