'Antichrist' followers show loyalty with '666' tattoos
Surrounded by a mob of news cameras, a group of smiling, well-dressed church members crowded into a South Beach storefront parlor on a recent muggy evening and got matching tattoos of their prophet's symbol: 666.
Members of Growing in Grace, a controversial religious sect headquartered in Doral, said they were following the example of their leader, Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda, who has claimed to be Jesus and recently declared himself the Antichrist.
Critics have called De Jesus a cult leader who manipulates followers. Church members say he has brought them happiness and spiritual fulfillment....
Chris M. I don't think you knew how much you hit the situation on the head. Go to Psa 99:9 and you can see how God has used you this day. Phrase God form what all things are done. Keep you eye on heaven and you will see him in all his grory one day.
I think that puerto ricans like, Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda, David Blaine are false idols that manipulate weak-mined people.God has a plan -- and the bible unfolds that wonderful plan through the message of prophecy God sent Jesus into this world to be our saviour And that Christ is returning, someday soon to unfold the wonderful plan of eternity, for my life and your life As long as we're cooperating with God by accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and saviour And as the Lord does return in the coming seven days
Albert tried to get one of them '666' tatoos, but he couldn't find a artist in N.I. who could count to six. Poor old Albert tried to count to 666, but was arrested for lewd behavior when he got past 20.
i think the tattoo parlor should be ashamed to have done all these tatoos just to make alittle money and get attention. they all need to get the king james version out and read it and abide by it and ask the good LORD for forgiveness. he will forgive them and show them the real truth if all of them want the truth from our living GOD and SAVIOR!!!! MY PRAYERS WILL BE FOR ALL THAT PARTICIPATE OR ACT IN ANYWAY TO THIS LOST SOUL NAMED DeJesus.
Nate, good question, but my speculation is that he may be playing upon the technical meaning of the Greek prefix "anti." We've generally lost touch with the fact that it really has a dual meaning. On the one hand, it commonly means "against." But it can also mean that which fulfills or replaces something that came previously. For instance, Biblical "types" are replaced by their fulfillments or "antitypes." So a full-orbed Antichrist would be one who not only is against Christ, but also claims to replace Him, or stand in His stead.
By the way, this is why Protestants have historically been so enflamed by the Popish title, "Vicar of Christ," which is a claim to stand in the place of, or instead of, Christ.
Is it just me, or does this make no sense? This man has "claimed to be Jesus and recently declared himself the Antichrist." How can he claim to be both Jesus and Anti-Jesus?
I guess the Bible is right when it says, "God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie" (2 Thessalonians 2:11).
You really are sick and demented you know that for equating that lunatic Cult of De Jesus to Roman Catholicism? There is absolutly no comparison between that Cult and Roman Catholicism.
I like the MAD Magazine cartoon of Charles Manson doing his own '666' tatoo on his forehead in the mirror...... except he forgot the effect of the mirror and it came out as '999'.
"Scholars who are concerned about the movement's growth say they hope De Jesus' latest claim will insert doubt into the mind of some members.
'The symbol of the Antichrist is so negative, the only good thing that will come out of this is that people will say, 'Hold on, this man is going off the deep end,' " FIU's Alvarez said."
Wow, after reading the article, you have to wonder what planet these people are from following this nut case. Whatever Bible they are reading, and this Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda is preaching from, is obviously grossly distorted.
It is these extreme crazies that really cause so much disunity and ignorance into the Christian Church.
