Small groups have huge impact on spiritual growth
On a recent Thursday night, Peyton Wooldridge met with 25 fellow congregants at Forest Acres’ St. Martin’s-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church to ponder how prayer informs a spiritual life.

On Wednesday night, Janice Clark and a handful of others gathered at Lexington Baptist Church to reconcile their family budgets with their Christian principles.

A few miles away, at Tree of Life synagogue, about 10 adults met to learn the ancient Hebrew language.

Different faith groups. Different topics. But one binding characteristic: The faithful, especially in large congregations, are gathering more and more in small groups to enhance their spiritual lives. ...

Indian Hills Community Church has Bible studies in family homes for people who want small groups or study groups at the church throughout the week and of course on Sunday mornings. It should go without saying that the family is an important part of Christianity.

There's another type of small group called "family worship".

Heads of families gathering the wife and children along with any family guests is a great way to have an impact on growth in grace and knowledge of the LORD Jesus Christ. The practice of family worship conforms to biblical precept and example and it works.
