Tony Blair has defended schools teaching creationism - the belief that the Old Testament account that God created man is true.
He told scientists that their fears about creationism were "exaggerated", though he said it should not become mainstream education.
Mr Blair, who will deliver a lecture on science tomorrow, said the scientists should be worrying about the "big battles", such as climate change, the recent scare over the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine and stem cell research.
The Bible's Epistle to the Hebrews provides important information about Creation.
It affirms that God by His Son, Jesus Christ, made the worlds. " God... hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son...by whom also he made the worlds" (Hebrews 1:1-2).
Hebrews also states that the world itself does not provide the evidence of how He did it. "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear". - Hebrews 11:3.
The things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
If God made the world, then it is reasonable to expect that our actions will come into account from Him. If life on earth is the product of cosmic accidents and the magic of evolution, then sin is not as sinful and we may never come into account. Cosmology drives morality and that is why many care much about it.
"Scientists are not trying to disprove the existence of God. Stop being paranoid"
Right. They are only trying to prove that if a god exists He did nothing, had no part in anything, doesn't do anything today and lies about it all by claiming He did. (And I'm only refering to the Darwinian/naturalistic/uniformitarian/evolutionist scientists. Unfortunately, that's the vast majority.)
As much influence as Tony Blair has, I don't believe that scientists are going to stop trying to disprove the existence of God. They attempt to do so in order to justify their life of sin and love of the world.
It would actually be more appropriate to worry about the lack of teaching Genesis chapter 1/2 in the Church of England. With so many Liberal deceivers in pulpits and authority within the church, Darwin's theory and archeology is given greater credence than the Word of God.
