Boston pol takes aim at Citgo sign after 'devil' comment

BOSTON --A city councilor wants to take down the famed Citgo sign in Kenmore Square in response to controversial remarks by Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, who called President Bush "the devil."
The Citgo sign has been a Boston landmark for decades, in part because it is so prominently visible over the left-field wall at Fenway Park.
But after Chavez called President Bush "the devil" during a speech Wednesday at the United Nations, Councilor Jerry McDermott said the sign has to go. Citgo is subsidiary of Venezuela's state oil company. McDermott wants replace the sign with an American flag....
God Bless our President, He is doing an exellent job. And that's from a black Jamaican. Chavez and all his enemies will be long gone, but righteousness stands forever.

The Tragic and Unnecessary Death of the United States
Congress has heard the videos of the tortures at Abu Ghraib. Children were tortured in front of their parents, raped with acid coated glow sticks. The screams on the videos weren't fit to be released to the public, or the cries of the mothers asking to be killed rather than to torture their children.
They also crush the testicles of infants in front of the parents.
Now this is officially okay, codified in U.S. law.
There's a whole army of Jeffrey Dahmer's waiting to get their eager hands on us when the government comes in the night to disappear us.
This is all to protect us against so-called "terrorists."
The real terrorists are the criminals, people like Condosleeza Rice in her black trenchcoats and high-topped black boots with stiletto heels.
These criminals who have hijacked the American government are perverts, sadists, who believe androgeny is a sign of godhood, who worship power and sex and aim to have total power over every soul on this earth.
They have put electronic voting machines all over the country, easily programmed to make elections turn out the way they want them to.
Meantime, posters on Sermon Audio support the nuking of Iran and go on arguing about whether or not people have free will or not.

Who was it who recommended assasination? Not Chavez but Bush loving "Christian" Pat Robertson ! Mare: You're making the same mistake McDermott made. Chavez did not state disrespect for the office of the Presidency. He expressed disgust with George Bush. George Bush is NOT the office of the Presidency, just the current occupier. George Bush is NOT the USA, just the current chief executive. You people are elevating Bush to a status that no man can attain. Have you ever thought of becoming a Romanist? They have a leader who is the all in all. If that's what you want, that's where you have to go. In the good old USA we have the right to call the President anything we would call any other man. I am with this city councillor...I can't believe Americans are not taking to the street protesting such insulting, disrespectful language about the office of the President of the U.S., regardless of their political affiliation. If the situation were reversed the speaker would be torn apart by anyone who would dare insult their fellow countryman. Enough of this "moral highground". It's time somebody had the bravado to stand up to the hate. The more we cringe and apologize, the more they are going to disrespect us.
Mr. Chavez expressed no hatred for the USA as Mr. McDermott claims. Mr. Chavez expressed disgust for Mr. Bush. I too, am disgusted with Mr. Bush. That does not make me hateful of America. Mr. McDermott is obviously one who equates love for Mr. Bush with love for our beloved nation. Mr. McDermott is a political opportunist and a jingoist. Mr. Chavez is offering more help to America's poor that that arrogant, cocky little squirt on Pennsylvania Avenue, which shows more Christian love (according to Jesus' words) than bombing the daylights out of innocent people, selling one's soul to major corporations or bullying the world while smearing the reputation of America as a country of Constitutional Law.
