Singapore calls on UN to promote inter-faith understanding
SINGAPORE: Singapore's Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo has urged the United Nations to build on the various initiatives to bring civilisations together and promote inter-faith understanding.
The Alliance of Civilisations and the Tripartite Forum on Interfaith Cooperation for Peace, he said, were examples of such initiatives.
Mr Yeo was speaking at the launch of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy at the UN General Assembly in New York.
He said member states must counter attempts by terrorists to use race and religion to divide them and recruit new members....
