400,000 years after the Big Bang, the cosmos went black. Here's what happened next.
Richard Ellis paces impatiently back and forth across a small room lined with computer terminals, trying to contain his mounting frustration. The British-born astronomer, now at Caltech, has been granted a single precious night to use one of the twin Keck telescopes, among the most powerful in the world. Last night he and his observing partner, a graduate student named Dan Stark, flew 3,000 miles, from Southern California to Hawaii, where the Kecks are located. And during most of the afternoon and early evening today, they've made their final plans for the "run," as astronomers call a night of peering into the heavens....
"matter/energy can neither be created nor destroyed".
Now I'm feeling convicted for calling the above statement 'stupid', which it is not, when dealing with physics and physical properties in the natural, non-miraculous domain.
"matter/energy can neither be made nor destroyed" may be pagan, but worse, it is an illogical induction. It is impossible to verify that it is everywhere, & has always been, true. The absence of contradictory evidence is not a valid proof.
Anytime scientists make categorical generalizations like this, their logic should be challenged.
"matter/energy can neither be made nor destroyed".
What an INCREDIBLY pagan concept, which VERY SUBTLILLY implies that "in the beginning NATURE..."--rather than GOD, who created nature/matter/energy.
Thank you, MSC, for pointing out a concept I learned, and accepted years before I became born-again and wise enough to see the utter stupitity of such a statement.
Regardless of what they say, I would be reluctant to get my science news from a newsweekly. Their track record speaks for itself. (And, August is a slow news month. If nothing is going on, create something.)
Protestant makes a good point, since science supposedly claims matter can neither be made nor destroyed and energy is neither made nor destroyed, only changed from potential to kinetic energy and vice versa. So where did all that matter and energy come from for the big bang? Hmm...?!!?!?!?
The Big Bang teachs that 'in the beginning was nothing, then nothing exploded, now there's everything.' Which is another way of saying 0+0=1. And they call it "science'.
John 14:6 I am the way, the truth and the life. no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
God said it, I belive it & that settles it.
Are you 100% sure if you died right now, Heaven would be your home?If your not, there are 4 things from the Bible you need to know, to be sure Heaven is your home.Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved Romans 10:13. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and come short of the glory God.(that means I'm a sinner, your a sinner and the whole world are sinners. Romans 3:10 as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Please pray this prayer from your heart and mean it. Dear Lord, I know I am a sinner, I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose from the dead. I now ask Jesus to come into my heart and save me and take away my sins. in Jesus name, amen
The truth never changes. What is scientifically 'true' is only as sound as the next discovery. How many died thinking that Pluto was a planet, now science says it's not. It would make a person question what the truth is. Jesus said that He was the truth. I believe Him, and He won't change.
