Parents clueless on booze, drugs
Parents' images of the typical teen party as generally drug and alcohol-free are drastically out of whack with reality, according to a survey out today from the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University.

The 11th annual survey of teenagers and parents finds that half of teens who attend parties say alcohol, drugs or both are available, but 80% of parents believe their teens attend substance-free parties.

Neil, I will say this, at least with Protestant schools, the children are getting good leadership during part of the day. In parochial school, those children are getting bad examples 24/7.

Well Moral Decline does go downwards, it's that simple.
Children inherit what the parents establish.

This is where we are headed.

1] This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
[2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, DISOBEDIENT TO PARENTS, unthankful, unholy,
[3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
[4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
[5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof, - [(Arminianism/Liberalism)] - from such turn away.

This just shows parents trust their children more than the Bible. After all, folly is bound up in the heart of a child.

You bet they forgot, they don't want to "go there."

Remember the '50s movie "Rebel without a Cause?" It's still the same problem. Parents whistle in the dark while their children are left to themselves, to be debauched by their dissolute, nihilistic schoolmates. And don't think "Christian" schools are necessarily better; their influence ends when classes are dismissed.

Correcting this requires a wholesale lifestyle change.

If these are non-Christian parents, they must have forgot when they were teen-agers.

Christian parents would warn them,

1Peter 5
8. Be vigilant, watch. Your adversary [the] devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour.
