Secret Service agents today threatened a Denton, Texas, evangelist with arrest for counterfeiting and seized 8,300 gospel tracts designed as "million-dollar bills."
Three Secret Service agents visited the Great News Network offices about 1 p.m. asking staffer Tim Crawford if he was responsible for printing "the million-dollar bills."
Crawford suggested they talk to his boss, Darrel Rudus, the founder of the organization that trains evangelists from around the country in the techniques of witnessing their faith.
By telephone, Rudus offered his opinion that it was impossible to counterfeit something that wasn't real – a $1 million bill.

Believer said Why don't we just simply preach the gospel as it is recorded in the scriptures and trust that the Holy Spirit will save whom it will.
I suggest that you go to Ray COmforts web site I am not sure the exact address but just do a google on his name and when you get to his web site read some of his material.
Ray uses Gods law to convict the persons heart. They will find out real fast that they are guilty. Gods word say "Law to the proud, grace to the humble.
If I try to save a man from drowning and pull him in to shore he will only be thankful if he in fact truly was drowning. Many time Christians will tell some one that they need Jesus or that they need to be saved. But they first must know that they have a disease that needs a cure before I hand them a bag of pills. This is what these Ray comfort tracs help to acomplish.
Why don't we just simply preach the gospel as it is recorded in the scriptures and trust that the Holy Spirit will save whom it will. No, I guess the Holy Spirit needs the devices of men in order to do that. If you have to use a tract, use one that simply states to believe the gospel and you will be saved; believe it not and you will be damned.
Matt 19.21 "Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 22] But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. 23] Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24] And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
The tract is worth more than a million dollars. If the Holy Spirit was to use it and someone was e saved through its use, that would be priceless.
The real counterfitters here are the government, not the evanglisit. The real worth of a real million dollar bill is about 50 cents (what it cost to print it). The state has taken a divine roll to itself and attributed $1000,000 of worth to something that is essentially worthless. That millon dollars is not backed up by anything. It is only because we are willing to conceed to the State that we are willing to accept it as having true value.
On the other hand the Bible says Prov 20:23 "Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good." Back then money was based on the weight of gold or silver. If the Million Dollar bill was a promise backed up by a proportionate amount of gold or sliver, it would have true worth and it would not be an abomination unto the LORD.
Learn to think Biblically about every sphere of life, (including econmomics), not just salvation.
Believer, I must respectfully disagree with you NOT having a problem with what the secret service did. It goes way beyond whether or not Ray Comfort is accurate and faithful in his service to Christ but that they with the power entrusted to them assualted a ministry for how they choose to minister.
Anyone who is truly born again of the Holy Spirit is family, good, bad or ugly and we should stick up for each other as family, don't you think?
By the way I believe Ray Comfort's message, 'Hell's Best Kept Secret' is on sermonaudio.
You must ask the question who was the daftest here.? 1] The woman who tried to bank it.? 2] The Feds who wasted tax payers money making a case out of it.?
As for the Tract idea, well I suppose it was eye catching, but for what purpose, and to what end - greed.?
I don't have a problem with what the Secret Service did. They might well have been in this particular case an instrument of God to remove from His presence an intent to obviously use aman-made means to preach and proclaim the Gospel. Faith cometh by hearing... God opens the eyes of a sinner to see his need for Christ, not some stupid tactic-no matter how well-intended--used by misguided men.
If the gospel doesn't offend, then it probably isn't the true gospel.
This is abuse of power-period!.. This is a ministry that is totally legit.. You know, when the Clintonistas were in power and the feds used these heavy handed tactics against ProLife groups, gun rights people etc., the Christian right was foaming at the mouth. But now that these federal, bureucratic storm troopers are in the employ of a Republican who claims to be a believer, there appears to be no expressed outrage from them. Where is Robertson, Falwell, Kennedy, etc now? Why isn't the "Christian" president calling in his hounds of religious persecution from the Treasury Dept? You yanks have something we lost in Canada. If you're not careful, you'll soon be like us-bridled at the mouth when it comes to preaching the gospel.
What abuse of power, what disquised hatred Satan's Servants have against Jesus Christ and those who would seek to make Him know and lead men to repent.
First they come for 'our' million dollar tracts? WAIT!!! this is simply not the first abuse of power by our government against Christians is it.
Decide today who you will serve (bow down too). Please notice when Satan tempted Jesus he did not say if you will love me rather if you will bow down to me. Remember the three Hebrew Children in the firey furnance? It wasn't because they refused to love the king's idol but because they refused to bow to it.
O beloved we must strengthen ourselves in the Lord against the evil of bowing to the intimidation Satan would throw at us. Those who imagine they can bow to him and to spare their life won't.
Actually it is kind of a harmless little idea, you create your tract into something someone will want to keep just for the fun of it.
I believe this is the point they had when making these bill tracts, as other people are actually selling these fake bills for money and people are buying them up by the truckloads for a joke to show to people.
So the people handing these bill tracts out are actually having people now approach them asking for more tract bills cause they like them so much and of course they get them for free.
On the back in a gospel message which they will save and no doubt read 10 times more then a normal tract as those just get tossed on the road or in the garbage 99% of the time.
Also it kind of lessens the fear and intimidation factor that people have when being approached by someone in the street trying to hand them a tract which most get offended or afraid of.
