Microsoft Introduces More Details on Upcoming Windows Vista

Excerpt from Microsoft.com site:

Vista introduces a breakthrough user experience and is designed to help you feel confident in your ability to view, find, and organize information and to control your computing experience.

The visual sophistication of Windows Vista helps streamline your computing experience by refining common window elements so you can better focus on the content on the screen rather than on how to access it. The desktop experience is more informative, intuitive, and helpful. And new tools bring better clarity to the information on your computer, so you can see what your files contain without opening them, find applications and files instantly, navigate efficiently among open windows, and use wizards and dialog boxes more confidently.

Mike, I think the BSOD, (Blue Screen of Death) was always perfectly clear to a Windows user when it popped up. Windows had blown up again.

Windows Vista: Bringing Clarity To Your World.

Is Microsoft admitting that prior to Vista, it has brought out-of-focus fuzziness to our world?

That's right, just don't "lift the hood" and look in C:\WINDOWS (or whatever it's called now) and it'll seem nice & clear. New "lusers" may be forced to make friends with the local computer geek (the guy who spends all his spare time with his computer, the wooden idol of today). Or the "Computer Palace" down the road.

I see they're taking more advantage of the "alpha" graphics channel (transluceny). Cute, but that won't open my wallet.

Hmm...sounds like a buena vista until the computer crashes...so much for clarity .

One never knows when the latest vaporware from Microsoft will be ready. One can be certain, however, it will be quickly infested with spyware and viruses. One can be even more certain that it will have more restrictions in transferring it between computers and higher costs. More and more interesting programs are easily running on Linux. If you are not technically minded yourself, get someone to download one of the Linuxes that run off of a CD from,

I would recommend KNOPPIX which may be the most popular and I use it a lot. You can surf the Internet and your can read your email with impunity, and not worry about any viruses. Give it a try it will not cost you anything.
