MAIDUGURI, Nigeria - Nigerian Muslims protesting caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad attacked Christians and burned churches on Saturday, killing at least 15 people in the deadliest confrontation yet in the whirlwind of Muslim anger over the drawings.
It was the first major protest to erupt over the issue in Africa's most populous nation. An Associated Press reporter saw mobs of Muslim protesters swarm through the city center with machetes, sticks and iron rods. One group threw a tire around a man, poured gas on him and set him ablaze.
In Libya, the parliament suspended the interior minister after at least 11 people died when his security forces attacked rioters who torched the Italian consulate in Benghazi....
Once upon a time a naive woman had a Ramadan party at the State Department and made the following gaffe: "So, on behalf of all the men and women of the State Department, thank you for honoring us with your presence this evening. Thank you for what you do every day as people of a great faith, of one of the world's great religions, of a religion of peace and love. Thank you for spending this important holiday evening with us. Ramadan Kareem. (Applause.)"
I have been watching the news and the Muslim world really has went ballistic over these pictures of the Profit Mohammad. Its frightening how offended they actually are regarding this, they are rioting in their own Countries, burning cars and killing non muslims.
They have been further outraged as an Italian MP said he would create T-Shirts and wear them, these people really are frightening.
We are told by Christ to love our enemies. I will have to review that to see if it is just on a personal level or corporate. But the radical muslims have declared war on the whole world. We have to think whether to fight or pray??
Notice very clearly they use the name of Yahweh and Jesus, so should YOU be associated with them just because you claim Yahweh/Jehovah/Jesus too? No way that would be unjust association.
Judge individuals, as not all people using "names" all agree with each other, there are thousands of different beliefs even within people who claim Jesus or live in a Christian nation, and only a certain amount I would EVER in a million years claim any harmony or agreement with on most anything.
Quote: ""So far the West and Islamic nations remain at loggerheads over fundamental, but conflicting cultural imperatives â the Western democratic assertion of a right to free speech and press freedom, versus the Islamic dictum against any representation of the Prophet Muhammad. Muslims say such depictions could encourage idolatry.""
AAAhhh You see it's really quite plain folks, just a simple matter of, "fundamental, conflicting cultural imperatives."
