DUP to lobby for American support

Democratic Unionists may appoint a representative in the United States to put the party's case to opinion formers, the DUP leader has said.

On the eve of his party's annual conference in Belfast on Saturday, Ian Paisley said the time was right to lobby for support in America.

Mr Paisley also intends to accept an invitation to meet four US senators in Washington in March.

"This is the time to do it because the present administration in Washington is more favourable than the Democrats," he said. ...

Dear Man from Texas,

The protestants in Ulster do have a great sense of humour. The Ulster papists do not get treated like second class citizens, they recieve a great deal of public funding. It is the protestants who are badly treated.

What gets me,is why prods have to pay for papish schools, and before you start ranting ,there is no such thing as a prod school, there are only state schools for prods and they are for all children black, white, mick, prod, muslim or hindu, the only prod schools here are funded by themselves, and not by peoples taxes.
Papish schools should not be funded by those who don't want children brought up with papish fairy tails and lies of the papish church.

BUT HEY IT'S A GOOD THING
THATS WHY "YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN"

Have to go,GNAGBA,but not those that preach another gosple

Ah, just what we need, more lectures on our 'real' nationality by an uninformed Mexican in need of some history lessons.

Prots don't know how. Taken as a group
(there are always exceptions) the Scot-
Irish are a dour and an aggressive
bunch of guys, who see things in black
and white only, while the Irish-Irish
have a sense of humor and can be
charming. The first time y'all open
your mouths on TV the American
people will see right through you.

Written like a true comedian. I don’t care what anybody says, GG from Texas is the funniest man in all of Amarillo.

It's a good move. Right now its all sentimental garbage about how England cut Ireland in two and forever hurt the integrity of a poor little country. No one hears about the Catholic slaughter of protestants or the fact that Ulster's integrity has been cut in two. Even decendants of Scots-Irish in the USA don't know their own history. When the big push eventually comes to make NI part of Ireland, a few more friends in the USA will help.

Truth is Black and White, which is why the Prods are as they are and which is why the Roman Catholics are as they are.

So what is the DUP Rep. for the US going to do, place an add during the Super Bowl explaining how the N.I. Prots have a right to treat the Catholics as a second class citizens? Don't even try to argue that you don't. When it comes to being just you N.I. Prots don't know how. Taken as a group (there are always exceptions) the Scot-Irish are a dour and an aggressive bunch of guys, who see things in black and white only, while the Irish-Irish have a sense of humor and can be charming. It's all the fault of the Democrats.

Keep voting Republican fellas.

Ulster Scots have never been good at PR & in America made a point of leaving their past behind, whereas from the start Catholic Irish in America did very well for themselves in politics & the RCC because of their people skills, and still play up their homeland. This is why we get the green waved in our face every March.

It is still "respectable" here to despise the rural descendants of Ulster as "rednecks." No one today would tolerate such talk of Catholic Irish.

Given the huge importance that the Scots-Irish (Ulster Scots or Northern Irish Protestants) have played in the founding of the USA and the fine Protestant witness in the States, it has always surprised me that Americans have been so sympathetic to the murdering terrorists of the IRA. Why did the US fail to sanction Noraid (the fund raising arm of the IRA) for so long? It is sad that it took some horrific terrorist atrocities on their own soil for the US government to condemn terrorism in all its forms.

I hope and pray that the DUP's envoy will be an influnence for good and that he will given many opportunities to expose the evil and hypocrisy of Sin Fein (or Sinful Fein).
