The main event at one Christian wrestling match came right out of the Book of Revelations, with a depiction of God and Jesus judging the main characters harshly on Judgment Day. Only one got to heaven. (ABC News)
WINTERVILLE, Ga., Dec. 20, 2005 — Some say the United States is in the middle of another spiritual awakening. Christians are being converted through all sorts of nontraditional means — Christian rock, video games, movies and even car racing — but pro wrestling?
Every weekend, Canton, Ga., middle school teacher Rob Fields becomes "Rob Adonis" — leader of Ultimate Christian Wrestling, a league based in Georgia.
Two Christian wrestling leagues operate across the South, visiting churches, colleges and other arenas throughout the country.
"This is what God's called us to do," Fields said.

Are "Christian" Wrestling matches a way to evangelize now? How does one spread the gospel by beating up on each other? IMHO, I think this is blasphemous--an insult to our Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross. We are not to use the "world" to spread the Gospel.
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:4)
The Great Commission is how Jesus Christ commanded us to evangelize--I see no "Christian" Wrestling matches (not even Christian Wrestling matches with altar calls, John Yurich) mentioned in Matthew 28:19-20 or in Mark 16:15 or in Luke 24:45-47.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15)
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20)
"If they have Altar Calls during those Christian Wrestling matches to have individuals receive Christ as their Savior then there is nothing wrong with there being Christian Wrestling matches."
Altar call regeneration? Where's that in the Bible, let alone this type of "evangelism" through wrestling?
entertainment wrestling as a tool for evangelism--if it was the gospel of easy-belivism...these actors will do better by witnessing with their lives, words and actions (INSIDE THE RING AND OUTSIDE THE RING THAT IS TRUE BIBLICALLY ENDORSED EVANGELSTIC TOOL) --and taking on (AND LOUDLY AND CLEARLY REJECTING)wrestling roles that do not dishonor,contradict,ridcule---THE TRUE GOSPEL OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST
If they have Altar Calls during those Christian Wrestling matches to have individuals receive Christ as their Savior then there is nothing wrong with there being Christian Wrestling matches.
Sure, beat your brother up in the name of Christ. Come on John, watch the video. These guys are hitting each other with chairs. Is that promoting Christian love?
The Bible teaches us those that love the things of the world are at enmity with God. And you see nothing wrong with bringing the church and the world together?
If they have Altar Calls during those Christian Wrestling matches to have individuals receive Christ as their Savior then there is nothing wrong with there being Christian Wrestling matches.
The logical conclusion of free-will (or free will taken to extremes) and man's ideas of reaching God...a "tower of babel" of a different hybrid is what it basically is.
Very pithy Mike. Sadly all too true. You'll forgive me please if you see me borrow that comment, probably on a near daily basis. The gospel is such good news yet we see it seemingly mired in stupid nonsense continually. Praise our Sovereign Lord that all is not what it 'seems' and that He is working all things for good for them that love Him.
From the Aposltes: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood...." "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God..."
Nothing about attending wrestling matches, football games, rock concerts, races, etc....especially if these fall on Sunday. Go to church, gather with Christians to hear the Gospel and nothing else. To get grace in another manner unfounded in the Bible is uncertain and may take you in the opposite direction from heaven.
No doubt, there are some Christian professional wrestlers. I hold none of them have anything to do with this. If they want to present the gospel, they can use this:

This reminds one of many of the new mega-churches with their nullifying the gospel.
