I had always enjoyed reading Jim too. The same as RV in Kenosha. I knew no better than to believe the dispensationalist / pre-trib garbage that was created in the 1800's by a few twisted people (Darby, et al). A lot of trash rose to popularity in the that century of many twisted, thinkers ie.. Darwin, Freud, Wescott & Hort. When I first felt lead to find out what the true greats of the Church (Owen, Calvin, Gill, Knox, Edwards, etc..) had to say about a pre-trib rapture you know what I found--- NOTHING. Why is that? Because that is exactly what it is, dispensationalism is, trying to make something out of NOTHING. It is a nice myth, just like practicing homosexuals, lesbians and people who stay in the RC are really saved and going to heaven. We can't change the Bible to say what we might like it to say, or what might make everyone happy or be politically correct. Although, many new transliterations might try.
Jim from Nebraska I always enjoy reading your letters but here I feel you are DEAD WRONG when you make this comment.
"Only a pre-millennial theology can interpret the Bible correctly"
I used to be a devout dispensationalist until a few years ago when someone took me through scripture and made me see the many faults of this interpretation.
I do not necessarily believe this is an issue that Christians should divide over, until of course you take this very subject and make it your own Religion.
When I was a dispensationalist I almost completely ignored the Old testament. And many dispensationalist I know do that very same thing, they will say the Pauline apistles are to us and about us.
No, the whole Bible is to us and about us. The old testament is as equally important as the new one.
No dis-respect intended here, but when you make a comment like that one Jim, you are crying out for some rebuke. GBY brother
I wondered when SermonAudio was going to put up an article about this disastrous event in England. This is a very sad day indeed. The strange combinations of homosexuals should not be given the same rights as real marriages.

Craig, you want to do just like the Muslims do, and try to reform people from the outside. It doesn't work. This country rejected the Puritan ayatollahs centuries ago. Are you also advocating trial for witches besides? Only a pre-millennial theology can interpret the Bible correctly.

Again pushing a social agenda corrupts what God said was to be none of the Bible. Nullifying the Gospel's Saving Power, q.v.,
I think the political correctness attitude has polluted even the believers minds in this current day.
I honestly think much of the blame has got to rest on the Christians shoulders for why things are they way they are.
A true Christian will despise evil and should do there best, even when its not popular to denounce evil on the spot and call it what it is.
We have taken the punch out of certain words which make it sound less offensive, because of this PC attitutude.
Affair - No its "Adultery" Pro Choice - No its "Pro Death"
We need to call it what it is. I heard a woman tell me "Well it is my body and I can do with it what I want"
I then asked her what does that have to do whith the little body inside of you that you want to destroy?
My unsaved brother used Gods name in vain. I look at him almost in tears asked him nicely...
"Please do not offend God that way, because I love him very much and it hurts me when someone hurts him".
Believe me that had an affect on him. But more importantly it glorified my heavenly father.
Christians are tortured everday in other countries for acknowledging there savior. Us Americans have no excuse to fight these battles for Gods kingdom. Lets get busy folks.
Craig, your analogy for Evangelicals is a bit too kind for some: take Campolo: Many in the church in the USA have heard of Tony Campolo (an ordained minister who served American Baptist Churches and speaks widely on Christian topics). note his views on Genesis—I have included a quote from the article http://www.beliefnet.com/story/179/story_17912_1.html "I have serious problems with fundamentalist Christians and their creationist theories. Although I believe that scripture is divinely inspired and infallible, I have a hard time going along with the belief that the whole creation process occurred in six twenty-four hour days." end of Campolo quote:
sad that so many of the scholars of "Evangelicalism" are like him: ignorant of the young-earth biblical & scientific arguments and yet stubbornly resistant to becoming informed: they undercut the authority of the Creator when they can't take Him at his word.
My point? Many Evangelicals are building with one hand and tearing down with the other!
A thought: Remember when the Israelites were rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem and they had to build with one hand and hold a sword in the other? The current battles of the culture wars are like the armed hand. The main Evangelical "soldiers", we all know their names, are waging war with one hand, but the other, which should be building, is laying limp. This is why I admire men such as Augustine, the Reformers and the Puritans. They were wonderfully effective with both hands. Only when we again fight and build will we begin the process of turning this tide. I recently attended a lecture by one of the leading Puritan scholars in America who told us of the efforts the English Puritans made to 1.reform the church, 2. reform and perfect preaching, 3. reform education at all levels, 4. reform the government. If we choose only part of the whole counsel of God we will not see the change to individuals which we are earnestly seeking.
Well, as you know we have "so called" sodomite marraige north of the 49th too. Right on, RV, it can't ever be real marriage, they may as well make a law that says 2+2=5 from now on! Still I believe that had they let us have a fair referendum, the law wouldn't have passed, but our corrupt government knew that and therefore stifled debate and pushed the evil law through.
This wave of decadence began to swell over 200 years ago. It may take 100-300 years to see it turn. Are Christians ready for the long hard battle or will be play the pre-mil Disp. game of pretend? I believe that the Lord will shake Christians out of the stupor of the last 100 years and use the Muslims on one side and the reprobates on the other to discipline us into obedience.
The United Kingdom of Soddom and Gomorrah, alias Britain, has announced this "civil partership" law because of the decline in sound doctrine in churches.
The reason behind this abomination, is the "SEED" planted which has eventually bloomed as Liberalism in the church.
The church has detracted from the authority of God and reduced His influence in society in general. Whereas the church in days gone by was the conscience of the nation, no longer holds that respect.
This "SEED" is of course Arminianism or Free Will teachings elevating man to a position of equality with the divine, which in due course ultimately leads to churches sanctifying mans iniquities and breeds liberal attitudes in congregations.
