Today we live in a world of more information, more ways to communicate, more things to do. There is more you can do and even more you can discover.

Every day, millions of people around the globe rely on their Windows PC to manage their increasingly digital lives. While familiar tools for managing digital information are powerful, today's world requires more.

In today's digital world, you want the PC to adapt to you, so you can cut through the clutter and focus on what's important to you. ...

Bill from Seattle -- I am almost curious about your last name ;-) -- I suppose I have it on, though I have no intention of replacing Windows 98 on any computers, because I have too many old programs that probably that will never run on Windows XP. Ideas may get some new programs that won't run on Windows 98. I see you have to be really lucky to get rid of Windows XP completely. I put one copy on a fat 32, and decided that is a better to put it on a much larger NTFS partition on the same computer. It doesn't want to get rid of the original installation. I suppose if I erased the whole hard drive and started over, I could be a rid of it. Linux stuff is progressing reasonably fast that perhaps lacking get rid of Windows of all types in a couple of years, hopefully.

The NTFS as a high understand it, did copy ideas from Unix systems.

Windows Vista? Why not Windows 6.0?

I wonder if it will have a Linux piece with it and also support Mac files.

Jim from Nebraska,

I think your computer is possessed.

I'm a retired computer consultant. E-mail me if you want some help. I upgraded my computer from Win 98 to XP.

Gee, Jim, you blame microsoft for your problems, but it looks like you're having your own problems getting the paste key to work. (You only need to hit Shift-Insert once)

Yes, Neil, something like Edsel. ;-) just today, I put Windows XP onto a computer. I found out it wouldn't update my Windows 98 S. E. operating system. I am not sure what I'm going to do with it. I probably have to keep around, because there'll probably be some programs that will run on it but not 98.

I.e. do not nowhere I saw it, but I see Microsoft is helping the Communist Chinese to filter out democratic words and sites. Can't they just stick to version numbers? It's now like the car industry - model names.

I wonder, with this new vista version, if it will contain home view enhancement, for waterfront views, mountain views, etc? LOL
