SERMONAUDIO TIP —
Podcasting, Blogging, RSS, Rich-Text Editing…

Attention everyone!

We are pleased to finally announce the support for PODCASTING, BLOGGING and RSS FEEDS. Podcasting has become a popular way for broadcasters to automatically deliver audio content to listeners' computers or portable MP3 players on a scheduled basis within standard RSS feeds. Blogging has become a popular way for ordinary people without any HTML or web-creation skills to easily create an online journal containing periodic entries on a variety of topics ranging from politics and theology to hobbies and family life. Both podcasts and blogs can be delivered via RSS feeds for individual broadcasters or for the SermonAudio site itself.

NEW! Podcasting is a built-in feature to all broadcasters on SermonAudio.com. Any new sermons uploaded to the site will be available automatically via podcasts. Visitors can easily subscribe to individual broadcaster's podcasts (via the broadcaster homepage) or they can simply subscribe to the SermonAudio podcast which spans all broadcasters. Podcasts allows the listener to download new MP3 audio sermons automatically to their computer, iPod, or other MP3 player via any Podcast-capable reader such as Apple's iTunes, Microsoft's Zune, FeedDemon, iPodder, etc.

Podcasting with Zune. We recommend using the newest version of the Microsoft Zune player to subscribe to the podcasts on SermonAudio. You can purchase the Zune player from the Microsoft Zune website..

Podcasting with iTunes? Use Version 7! We recommend upgrading your iTunes to the latest version if you are attempting to podcast. You can download your free copy from the Apple website..

To learn more about how to subscribe to podcast feeds on SermonAudio, click here..

Blogging on SermonAudio is easy-to-use and automatically built-in to all PLUS and FULL member homepages. We also support rich-text editing (an option you can turn ON in your homepage EDIT window) so that you can include web links and basic character formatting in your blog entries. Visitors can navigate through blogs quickly by date or category and can add their own comments (complete with automatic email notification).

In addition, all member homepages are now RSS-capable so that visitors can now "subscribe" to your syndication feed and receive new content notifications immediately and automatically via any RSS reader (such as FeedDemon, NewsGator, Pluck, etc). This syndication feed will contain all new content pertaining to that particular member's homepage including new blogs, new sermons (podcasts), new videos, new PDFs, new photos, and new web store products.

Not only can you subscribe to the RSS feeds of individual member homepages, but you can even subscribe to the RSS & Podcast Feed of SermonAudio itself so that you can instantly see and be notified of all the newest sermons, blogs, breaking news, photos, web store products, and survey topics across all broadcasters! Use the XML/Podcast button found on the bottom of any page for the site-wide feed.

NEW! We have expanded the RSS feeds capability! You can now also podcast and retrieve the latest sermons by speaker or by any topic or keyword! So now you can be easily notified when new sermons are available from your favorite speakers or sermon topics!

We've created a new RSS page on the site which details how to use the RSS feeds found on the site!

In the Our Broadcasters and Plus Member Directory sections of the site, you can now conveniently jump to all member blogs, photo albums, or web stores by way of the new drop down list boxes at the top of those sections. In addition, a small "»" character appears beside any new list item to help you find anything that's new!

The new Site-Wide Blogs section of the site groups all blogs from all broadcasters together in a single page so that you can have a birds-eye view of all broadcaster weblogs as well as be able to search through all past blogs.

We hope these (and the many other minor enhancements we've made through the site including many new improvements to the Breaking News section) will make your visit with us on SermonAudio all the more enjoyable. We are working hard to make your experience with us the best that it can be.

Thank you for your support!

If you want to embed your blog from sermonaudio on your own website use "spring widget" http://www.springwidgets.com/widgetize/23/?param=http://feeds.feedburner.com/erlc_all - it is a tool that converts the rss feed to html.

Will there ever be a way to edit the RSS feed info about the speaker/broadcaster? It would be nice to be able to add keywords to the info that is seen on iTunes. iTunes just displays whatever the RSS feed says.

Actually, you can use iTunes with ANY broadcaster on SermonAudio already! Podcasting is a feature built-in for all broadcasters across the board (even if they have not been specifically submitted for listing in the Podcast Directory in iTunes). Use the "Subscribe to Podcast" feature in iTunes and copy the RSS URL of the broadcaster you wish to podcast.

Update: We've created a separate step-by-step page on how to actually submit your podcast feed to iTunes by clicking here ...
