Bush invited to Muslim-Christian summit
Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade said on Monday he had invited US President George W Bush to a Muslim-Christian summit he suggested at the United Nations in September.

"I invited him," Wade told reporters in French after meeting with Bush at the White House.

"We discussed tensions between Muslims and Christians," said Wade, who bemoaned what he called the "very deep misunderstanding" between adherents to the two religions.

The Senegalese president said at the UN General Assembly in September that he hoped to host the summit in December 2006. ...

Bush'll have a great time at such a summit. Nothing new for our Imam-in-Chief.

What "misunderstanding"? To Muslims, we are infidels who must be converted or killed. They are unbelievers who will die in their sins, outside of Christ.

Are we not missing the point a little bit, here?

The UN is the United NATIONS as NATIONS, NOT the United RELIGIONS.

No government leader, whether a true Christian, a professor, or follower of another religion or none should attend this UN meeting. It is not their sphere of responsibility.

We have had a diet of ridiculous news stories regarding simple low key acts of faith being accused of being the "establishment" of religion in America (e.g. letting christians meet together as christians in public schools, public displays of the 10 commandments).

This is a real attempt by the UN to regulate, oversee and establish whatever they say about religion.
Wake up!

Shame on Blair - yet again.

Ezra, if you were a world leader, you would probably be the only one who would preached a gospel -- I don't think you would forget to pass it a long to the Vatican representatives also!

Professors may go ... and get along. Followers of Jesus, on the other hand, may go and preach Jesus the Son of God crucified and raised from the dead as the only Way to God and salvation. Making it clear that all other ways lead to Hell.
