Congratulatory letter to President George W. Bush from Dr. Bob Jones III
Official announcement from the bju.edu website...

Dear Mr. President:

The media tells us that you have received the largest number of popular votes of any president in America's history. Congratulations!

In your re-election, God has graciously granted America—though she doesn't deserve it—a reprieve from the agenda of paganism. You have been given a mandate. We the people expect your voice to be like the clear and certain sound of a trumpet. Because you seek the Lord daily, we who know the Lord will follow that kind of voice eagerly.

Don't equivocate. Put your agenda on the front burner and let it boil. You owe the liberals nothing. They despise you because they despise your Christ. Honor the Lord, and He will honor you.

Had your opponent won, I would have still given thanks, because the Bible says I must (I Thessalonians 5:18). It would have been hard, but because the Lord lifts up whom He will and pulls down whom He will, I would have done it. It is easy to rejoice today, because Christ has allowed you to be His servant in this nation for another presidential term. Undoubtedly, you will have opportunity to appoint many conservative judges and exercise forceful leadership with the Congress in passing legislation that is defined by biblical norm regarding the family, sexuality, sanctity of life, religious freedom, freedom of speech, and limited government. You have four years—a brief time only—to leave an imprint for righteousness upon this nation that brings with it the blessings of Almighty God.

Christ said, “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my father honour” (John 12:26).

The student body, faculty, and staff at Bob Jones University commit ourselves to pray for you—that you would do right and honor the Savior. Pull out all the stops and make a difference. If you have weaklings around you who do not share your biblical values, shed yourself of them. Conservative Americans would love to see one president who doesn't care whether he is liked, but cares infinitely that he does right.

Best wishes.

Sincerely your friend,

Bob Jones III
President

PS: A few moments ago I read this letter to the students in Chapel. They applauded loudly their approval.

When I told them that Tom Daschle was no longer the minority leader of the Senate, they cheered again.

On occasion, Christians have not agreed with things you said during your first term. Nonetheless, we could not be more thankful that God has given you four more years to serve Him in the White House, never taking off your Christian faith and laying it aside as a man takes off a jacket, but living, speaking, and making decisions as one who knows the Bible to be eternally true.

Thanks John for the web sight that you posted, http://www.bushrevealed.com/

While Bush should not alienate non-Christians and those who support ungodliness, it is important for him to take inventory and to study to show himself approved unto God, a workman that needs not be ashamed (examples of unsound declarations: Islam is a peaceful religion, homosexuality is not a sin and you do not have to be a Christian to go to heaven).

It is sad that Ashcroft needed to resign because he was too controversial. From what I know about him he was a man of character and honor.

I have been praying for years for righteous leaders and just judges.

We have more hope with Bush than Kerry.

May righteousness and justice prevail.

Bush owes the leftsts nothing. They have not voted for him, they do not like him, they admittedly hate him, and thus he owes them NOTHING. However, he is their President. Like it or not, he is their President. And that makes him their servant. He will try in the best of his power to lead the nation in the direction it needs to go. The liberals do not want a moral man, a man with religious convictions to lead this nation. They would much prefer that a man with a sexual disease lead over a man that is born-again. Bush owes the liberals nothing.

Christ is King! In God We Trust! The God of Israel! The LORD GOD JEHOVAH! Not the god of Muhammed, not the Pope, not Buhhda, not Confucius, not the Dali-Lama, but In JESUS CHRIST-The Risen Lord!

Many want to say that the U.S. was not founded upon the principles of Christianity, but I tel you never to believe it! Look at who our Founding Fathers looked to for their guidance! Look at why they payed preachers to pray daily in the Congress! Look at why our nation ordered AV Bibles in the first years! We serve a living God! Not a bunch of Michael Moores! Not a bunch of liberals that must live near the water so they can breathe through their gills. The left coast is out of touch with reality. Liberalism is dead. Christ is risen!!!

Our president owes the liberals in this country as much as he owes any other citizen. In his remarks soon after the election, President Bush spoke of uniting the country, of being a president to those who did not vote for him. I believe that Dr. Jones' rhetoric does little more than fuel the flames of division in this country along religious and cultural boundaries.

Gray, Embrace reality? Should I embrace fantasy and propoganda? You don't think the evil fruits of Bush are an obvious denial of Jesus (the Bible Jesus) and the biblical Gospel? Saying that Allah and the God of the Bible (Jesus) are the same is DENIAL!!! AND BLASPHEMY AND ABOMINATION!!! Saying that the Koran is the "word of God" is DENIAL!!! Bowing down to the most blaspheming man on earth, the pope, and praying with false religions is DENIAL!!! Saying that there are "many paths to the same God" is DENIAL!!! Mr. Bush may believe in "a Jesus" and "a gospel", but they are another. Besides, a true Christian would never even be in politics, and if Mr. Bush would ever truly become converted, he would either step down or be assassinated. Gray, can you or anyone else tell me how Mr. Bush can be in a satanic society and be a Christian?

Ezra, you don't even know who the "terrorists" are. This Osama character, a CIA agent, did not "mastermind" 9/11, and the whole theory of Muslim hijackers is actually hilarious. You want to attack some terrorists with your carnal ways? Then focus on the Vatican, the Jesuits, the Illuminati, the Masons and the US Government.

Peacemaker, you ask what is the solution? The solution to what problem?

"You owe the liberals nothing. They despise you because they despise your Christ. Honor the Lord, and He will honor you. "

The middle sentence is a bold assertion.
Yes, many of those that are called "liberals" (and are indeed anything but liberal) do often despise Bush.
But remember, the world not only hates those who follow Christ, they also hate and despise hypocritical professors too!
Christians need to ensure that they suffer for Christ's sake and not for pig-headed, blood-lusting, hypocritical wilful ignorance.

The headline should perhaps read:
"A call to ditch discernment!"
or
"Christians welcome judgment!"

Is Bush a Christian? saved? God alone knows, He is great in mercy.
All I can observe of Bush is:
- his well documented flirtation of homage with false religion,
-his giving up of meeting together with the brethren, and,
-his general confusion over matters on which the scriptures speak plainly (despite "you seek the Lord daily")
are grave matters of concern and no cause for rejoicing.

"Because you seek the Lord daily, we who know the Lord will follow that kind of voice eagerly. "
That is truly frightening and chilling logic.

It is a time of judgment to live under a false professor of the true Christ, particularly one who makes a big play of his faith. Discernment is the need of the hour.

Dan is insane.

Mr. Bush is not a Satanist. I thank God for BJU and the witness of fundamentalists worldwide. President Bush is the best person for our nation at this present time.

And Amy, why don't you go oversees and try to convert the terrorists before they shoot you or behead you. It is foolishness to cast our pearls before the swine. In war, you cannot appease your enemy. You must defend yourself.

You're just mad about the election. Many people need to move to Canada. I thank God for an old-fasioned Christianity that doesn't appease terrorists.

I and the nation decided who is best for this country, and we have four more years of Christian freedom as a result of it.

Well said Dan. Modern Day Christians are afraid of biblical truths and, even more so, REPROOF where reproof is due!

http://www.apostasynow.com/articles/reproof.html (Resisting the Reproof of Life - Answers to the rebellious response to correction, "Judge not that ye be not judged!")

I am facing this exact situation within my church, open warmongering from the Pulpit with no New Testament scripture to back it up! Sad how my Fundie brothers and sisters run straight for the smiting and a_smothing in the *Old* Testament, for validation for thier revenge blood lust, Hallelujah! without a care or concern for the New Covenant of Jesus the Prince of Peace and HIS calling to represent HIS light unto the world. Not Bush's, not Haliburtons, but CHRIST's message (of love, peace and eternal salvation).

Someone please show me where it says we are supposed to fullfil the Great Commission (to reach unsaved souls) with M-16s, anyways. Reaching souls with John 3:16 (the TRUE word of God) is "Christ like" as we are called to be.

Dan: Evidently when the Lord commanded you to judge fruit, he didn't command you to also embrace reality. I have never and YOU HAVE NEVER heard G. W. deny Jesus and the Gospel. Therefore, he is NOT OBLIOUSLY the anti-christ. I don't recall the Apostles or God being 'mean' and 'divisive'. I don't know you Dan and at this juncture, I'm not sure that I want to. But, you do the Lord a dis-service by being petty and demonstrating a lack of discernment.

I'm just exercising my right to judge fruit, as commanded by my Lord and THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. The President denies Jesus and the Gospel, he is therefore and obviously antichrist, just like the majority of people in this world, and this is not that hard to see for those that are in the faith. I wonder what hateful words you have for the Apostles, since they were all very "condemning" and "mean" and "divisive" and "judgemental" and "intolerant", as was God Himself.

I hope my Lord will speak those blessed words of, "well done thou good and faithful servant", for speaking the truth, standing up for holiness, exposing the unfruitful works of darkness, warning of the false teachers, and contending for the faith in this evil wicked world that is filled with apostasy and phony Christians that love themselves and this kingdom more than the Almighty God.

And what are my errors? You don't even know me!! Of course I'm a sinner, though justified and washed and given a new life, but I am still commanded to be discerning. It would be hypocrisy, however, for me to expose Mr. Bush and his lifetime membership with a satanic secret society if I were in one too. But I am not in one of course, cause I'm a Christian!

And to win the world, we simply PREACH THE GOSPEL! Anyone doing that?

Dan: I appreciate your taking over for God in condemning Mr Bush as both non-Christian and satanic. I'm sure the Lord will thank you Himself in due time. But, in my experience you fellows are awfully good at finding errors in others and not seeing it in yourselves. If we left the world to pagans how would we ever win it for God, since we are his hands? You sound suspeciously like a poor loser. Am I correct?

What absolute blindness!! Just like so many other so called Christians that get involved with political foolishness and earthly kingdoms. Bush is not a Christian, he is a Devil worshipper since he's a lifetime Bonesman with the satanic, black magic secret society Skull and Bones, just like his cousin John Kerry. Can't serve Christ and the Devil.
