Bishop doles out chocolate to tempt worshippers?

The campaign is aimed at the over-50 age group

The Right Reverend Nigel McCulloch is supporting the "Back to Church Sunday" campaign.

Newcomers to the church will be given a special copy of newsletter Crux and a free bar of Co-op fair trade chocolate.

Mr McCulloch said in Crux: "We are all brothers and sisters in Christ... I wonder, have you ever thought of coming back to join us?"

The magazine also includes articles urging regular church goers to bring their friends along. ...

Norman: Haven't been there, and they are on the other side of town (45 min. drive; AZ town limits are HUGE). Their paper advertisements are even more blatant. We did meet a couple that left coolchurch after futile attempts to remonstrate with its pastor. Last I heard, they moved to a Fundy Baptist church.

I used to attend a CBA church that was of the same mind but not as fully "realized." Once, they had a banner posted saying "You'll Love Our Sundays!" I had vandalous thoughts about that. As for churches that adhere to Reformation confessions, there are very few here in Tucson.

The saddest thing is, not only is sound doctrine ignored and worship polluted, but we've seen firsthand that "seeker-friendly" churches have hurt people w/o repenting.

Neil,
i looked at the web site of the cool church. I notice it is in your home town.

Just out of interest bro', have you attended a "meeting"?

Better still, do you know anyone who used to, and has found the church "weighed in the balances and found wanting", and been delivered?

There used to be a sister i knew, whom was seeking spiritual matters, and found herself in a Charismatic church where the Toronto "blessing" was taking place.

She told me she was heartbroken to think that all were falling down, and she was not, convincing herself that she was not "spiritual" enough, and so was missing out on the blessing.

She told me that now she realises that the Lord was preserving her from being deceived.

amen!

I thought that what was bingo and other forms of gambling was for? Now, if they had a beer garden, that would really bring them in!

They might try Christianity, but that would be a novel idea for them, and especially for their parishioners, who wouldn't put up with that.
