On the same day he anchored live coverage of the late President Ronald Reagan's funeral, conservative icon Rush Limbaugh, the most-listened-to radio host in history, announced he was breaking up with his wife.
The Limbaughs "mutually decided to end their marriage of ten years" and have "separated pending an amicable resolution," according to a statement released by Limbaugh's publicist, reports the Associated Press.
Rush's spokesman Tony Knight declined further comment on the divorce, saying the matter was personal....

Your next question, If so, do you mean this based upon empirical cross-cultural evidence or as a theological / philosophical imperative?
If my options from your multi-choice menu are limited to these two, I choose theological. I would not use the word imperative, however. Christians submit to the will of God out of a heart attitude of love and gratefulness for what he has done and order their lives in such a way as to please him and to promote his kingdom. Therefore the mature Christian practices biblical morality, which is conservative in all areas, including economics and politics. He does instruct in these issues, you know. The only exception is in charity. In that, he would like us to be liberal.
I had a hint of this a few months ago; Rush was talking about some marriage-related topic, had a perfect excuse to brag on Marta, and missed it badly.
Men, praise your wives for what they do. You'll likely be surprised that you'll get a lot more to praise them for. Don't fall into the trap of modern America that leads men to call their wives the "ball & chain" and other such nonsense.
Rush Limbaugh is probably one of the biggest hypocrites in the world today. That hypocrite has devoted much radio time to condemning the adulterous activities of others, like those of President Clinton, only to engage in similar behavior himself.
Rush proves political conservatism does not equate to Biblical morality although those who practice Biblical morality are conservative. The universe over which El-Rushbo is his own god, allows 3 divorces, drinking, smoking, drug taking, profane language, and a host of other sins while paying lip service to the God of the Christian, Jesus Christ, without ever submitting to him while honoring him up to the point where their two universes clash.
