Attention AOL UsersIt has come to our attention that AOL has blocked our server from sending email to any AOL email address. This has come to pass because (apparently) a number of complaints were issued to AOL regarding the weekly email newsletter being interpreted as "SPAM".
This is a huge mistake.
The weekly newsletter email is NOT SPAM. This is a newsletter that you have voluntarily signed up for in exchange for *FREE* access to the largest MP3 audio sermon library (over 26,000+ sermons) on the web. This was made abundantly clear when you typed in your email address on the newsletter subscription page.
Because of this action, we had no choice but to remove all AOL addresses from our weekly newsletter. Consequently, this means that if you supplied an AOL email address when attempting to listen to a sermon, you will have to do one of the following:
- Use a different (non-AOL) email address.
- Or, petition to AOL to allow us to send email to AOL addresses. The exact server that needs to gain access is "newsletter.sermonaudio.com" (IP address: 64.208.234.8). We are sending out our newsletter emails from that server.
Of course, the second option would be the better choice. We therefore encourage all and any AOL members who enjoy using SermonAudio to send an email to the AOL support desk making it clear that our servers are NOT sending SPAM and to open the door once again for our servers to send emails to AOL members. In lieu of this situation, we have tightened the entire mechanism of accepting email addresses for the weekly newsletter. From now on, when you enter an email address on the newsletter subscription page, an automated email will immediately be sent to the supplied address to see if it is (a) a valid address, and (b) indeed your own personal email address (as opposed to someone else's!). If either of these cases fail, you will be prompted (again) to enter an email address until a correct address is entered. We were forced to make these changes in order to circumvent abuses being made to the free services we are providing. Please do not abuse the system.
Please direct any further questions to [email protected]. Thank you for your help in this matter.
Sincerely,
Steven Lee, Founder SermonAudio.com
