Thousands of Canadian Christians rally against homosexual 'marriage'
Thousands of people opposed to same-sex marriage rallied on Parliament Hill yesterday, imploring the government to reconsider its plan to legalize marriage for gays and lesbians.
"We have one message here today and that is: Don't mess with the definition of marriage," said event organizer Tim Dooling, of the Ottawa-based group Canadians Against Same Sex Marriage.
The rally received the support of about two dozen conservative and religious groups and the demonstrators, estimated by the RCMP to number about 6,000, came from cities across southern Ontario and Quebec.
About half were from various Chinese Christian churches.
