NEW YORK — Freedom of speech is a right many Americans have been exercising lately in speaking out against war. But despite what’s been making headlines in the papers and getting coverage on TV, not all the demonstrations are against military action in Iraq.Americans of various stripes took to the streets this past weekend — in support of U.S. soldiers and their mission.
Houston was home to perhaps the largest pro-war march: Between 8,000 and 10,000 people showed up, according to reports. Elsewhere, hundreds gathered at the state capitol in Austin; 4,000 turned out in Tulsa, Okla.; and 5,000 braved the snow and ice in Cleveland, Ohio, for a "rally for America."
The question is, why aren’t the military supporters getting as much coverage as the anti-war demonstrators?
