Privacy Law nixes personalized prayers

AN Anglican bishop has warned that loneliness is in danger of worsening after new laws restricted the naming of people in weekly prayer lists.

You don't have a prayer in church: Privacy law consent needed.

In the latest display of political correctness, the Privacy Act which came into force on December 21, 2002, now restricts weekly church bulletins from naming people on their lists.

Unless the church has the individual's specific permission to publish their name, it cannot be included on a prayer list. ...
