ADA - Evangelical churches grew over the past decade, while more liberal Protestant denominations shrank, according to a recent census of U.S. religions conducted by a Roman Catholic research group.
In Oklahoma, the Southern Baptist Convention continued to dominate, followed by the United Methodist Church, Roman Catholic Church and Assemblies of God.
Nationally, the fastest growing denomination was the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, followed closely by the evangelical Assemblies of God, according to the Religious Congregations & Membership study.
The study was conducted by the Glenmary Research Center in Nashville, Tenn., a Catholic research and social service organization that coordinates the study with analysts from several faiths. It's one of just a few religious surveys across denominations.

And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha." (2 Kings 6) God said He would make Abram's decendents, through Sarah his wife, as the sands of the sea when she was barren and 90. (2 Timothy 4) In heaven ther will be a countless multitude, but none of them will be Mormans or any others that preach a false gospel. (Galatians 1: 6-9)
