A BBC documentary to be screened this Christmas will question the beliefs of billions of Christians by suggesting that Mary was not a virgin when she conceived Jesus.
The Virgin Mary, which is to be transmitted on the Sunday before Christmas Day, investigates three explanations, other than the immaculate conception, for Mary's pregnancy.
Firstly it looks at the possibility that she slept with Joseph while she was engaged to be married to him, secondly that she was raped by a Roman soldier and thirdly that she fell pregnant to an unidentified man before marrying Joseph. It concludes that Mary was most likely to have concieved Jesus with Joseph before their marriage as Joseph stood by her; an unmarried pregnant woman at that time in Palestine would have been cast out from the community or may even have been stoned to death.

Interesting.... The Jews do not believe that Mary was a virgin, because that would mean that Jesus really was their prophesied Messiah (and -- whoops! -- they crucified Him).
I wonder how the Devil will try and duplicate the virgin birth with the Anti-Christ? He has to do that to look like he's fulfilling prophesy to get the Jews to follow him (don't forget -- he will be setting his throne in Jerusalem)....

The Mary that conceived Jesus through natural conception is someone with whom the lost can identify with. The only problem with that concept is the world needs Jesus for salvation. No Virgin Birth No Salvation. If they want identification let it be known that in Christ ALONE, worthless sinner like me Repent of self “born a sinner” put faith in Christ and his Finish Redemptive work, which includes Virgin Birth.
Let's not be distracted, first the enemy wanted us to worship the "mother and child" just like in Babel...and now he is trying to get the glory for himself rather than the false "gods" he erected to draw men away from the worship of the true God. We know from the Word, that our enemy will try to exalt himself above all that is "called "god"", so why should we be suprised when he appears to be toppling his own idols?? Gods word says that the mother of Christ was a virgin, then she was...whether men want to believe it or not...

this sort of thing isn´t new. It was put about in the 1st century AD - by the jewish authorities - it was was due to hatred of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, then, and it´s due to the same hatred today. Christians know the Truth.
Remember: Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Puny man once again trying to explain away the mysteries of awesome God.
I know you were just quoting the Sunday Herald article, but the "immaculate conception" doesn't refer to the conception of Jesus. It's the RC doctrine that Mary was conceived free of original sin.
The virgin birth is very clearly stated in the Bible...Nuff said!
