TV reports a new Bin Laden tape

Nov. 12 â€” A voice purported to be Osama bin Ladenâ€™s praised recent terrorists attacks, including the bombing on the Indonesian island of Bali, in an audiotape broadcast Tuesday on the Middle East TV network, Al-Jazeera. U.S. officials told NBC News that the CIA was already analyzing the recording, which could offer the first evidence in a year that the leader of the al-Qaida terrorist network is alive.

ON THE TAPE, the speaker also praises the taking of hostages by Chechen rebels in Moscow and threatens Western nations over any attack on Iraq.

NBCâ€™s Robert Windrem reported that the CIA had already begun to analyze the tape recording but that it may take some time before analysts are able to say definitely whether the voice is in fact that of bin Laden.

However, one official said, â€œIt does sound like him.â€ ...
