NEW YORK (AP) -- The Rev. Jerry Falwell says "I think Muhammad was a terrorist" in an interview to be broadcast Sunday on the CBS program "60 Minutes."
The conservative Baptist minister tells correspondent Bob Simon he has concluded from reading Muslim and non-Muslim writers that Islam's prophet "was a -- a violent man, a man of war."
"Jesus set the example for love, as did Moses," Falwell says. "I think Muhammad set an opposite example."
CBS released a partial transcript of the interview Thursday. Falwell's comments occur in a segment about American conservative Christians' political support for Israel.

I don't know a lot about terrorists but this I know: Jesus saith to him, `I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one doth come unto the Father, if not through me; John 14:6 Bigot or not, there is no other way no matter how religious or what religion.
It is of the course of things that I cannot know what is in the mind of Muhammad, Jerry Falwell or Ibrahim Hooper. I do have eyes though, and I read the sentences...the ones Falwell said seemed to be of more 'moderate' tone than Hooper's talk. And whether or not Islam is 'peaceful' under the sight of human eyes is irrelevant...Jesus Christ is the Way, and the Truth and the Life. He's the only Door to the Father God in Heaven. Praise Jesus Christ' holy name forever and forever and ever! It's coming in quick now, people of God, be ready for it. Jesus Christ is coming back soon and the world's filling up it's cup of evil. Love Jesus Christ, with all faith and all hope. And it is my hope you know that He has saved you. Pray loving things to the Father, and His Son and praise Him for all the work of His Holy Spirit Who is on the earth do works...remember, the Holy Spirit of God was brooding over the face of the waters...brooding...like a chicken over her eggs...love God; He loves you; you should love Him in all that faith and hope He gives to you with all that love He gives to you. Praise His holy name for ever! Praise God!!
