A north-west bound four-engine plane flies past the half moon, leaving its contrails in the clear skies over Frankfurt, Germany, Monday morning, Sept. 30, 2002, as clear early autumn weather prevails over most parts of Germany with the moon easily visible almost all day.
Neil, there was a time when one could look into the sky and be able to idenitify almost perfectly what kind of aircraft was overhead...those days are gone now....from the view in the pic, it's hard to tell exactly what kind of aircraft....the problem is also that 747's and A340's now often have the same engine design...from what I can tell those are newer engines I've seen on both aircraft. I'm also guessing this plane is headed for North America, either Canada or the U.S.(considering the size of the plane and the direction it's going)...my guess..I just thought I'd have a little fun with this one . If the pic was a little clearer, one could discern better the design on the tail...I'm guessing this is British Airways or Air France.
