MARIETTA, Ga. — The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a federal lawsuit seeking to force the Cobb County school board to remove disclaimers on evolution from thousands of middle and high school textbooks.
The suit was filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Atlanta, just one day before the board was to discuss whether teachers should be allowed to teach faith-based ideas along with evolution as explanation for the variety of life.
The stickers, placed in new science books this month after requests from parents opposed to evolution on religious grounds, say evolution is a theory, not fact, and should be critically considered.
The Law of Biogenesis (Pasteur) which says spontaneous generation is impossible, falsifies and disproves the THEORY of Evilution (which states that Spontaneous Generation occured ONCE). LAWS cannot be superceded by THEORIES. Steven J Gould tried to claim evolution as fact, but then he tried to prove evolution happened so fast that it left no record in the fossile record. This is proof from LACK of evidence!
Evolution is not even a theory. At least, as far as *real* science goes, evolution is but a hypothesis to explain how all things came about, because evolution has not been reproduced. Of course, by the same rule, creation is also a hypothesis (and a valid one too!), and I rest on Heb. 11:3 as my comfort that creation is true.
If they are worried about mixing church and state, they should remove any trace of the humanistic (and state) religion from all state controlled public places. Evolution, and ALL other religions (including Christianity) should be taken out of governmentally run public schools. Government educators should should not discuss the origins of man or the universe, nor anything to do with human sexuality -- that should be the parent's job! We have become a sad generation who leave the educating of our children to total strangers whose beliefs we know not. Fellow Christians, if we truly love our children, we should get them our from under the thumb of the heathens and educate them ourselves! "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." James 4:4 "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." 1 John 2:15-17
The stickers seem to simply point out that Evolution is merely a theory. Problem is, it is taught and portrayed as fact, not only in text books, but also in zoo displays, dictionaries, atlases, television commercials, movies, video games, children's books, "science" programs on TV, childrenls magazines [Big Backyard, Kids Discover, etc.]
And they are crying over a little sticker? Yes, the church of Darwin has to jealously protect its monopoly.
They are just "singling out" something that is of a high importance: where all of life began! All the other laws/theorys stay here after we pass into eternity....could that be why our kids need be allowed to hear the "other side" of this argument?
