If you are already have your sermons on Audio CDs, then this section gives a detailed look at how to create MP3 files from your Audio CDs.
All you need is a program to "rip" the audio off of the CD and convert it to the properly-encoded MP3 file for SermonAudio.
Summary of steps:
- Your sermons must already be on Audio CDs.
- Use the dbPowerAmp tool to "rip" the CD and create an MP3.
- All MP3 files are encoded at 16kbps bitrate (HIFI: 64kbps) but
you can upload them at any bitrate and we'll auto-convert!
- Use the Submit Sermon form to submit the sermon details and then upload the MP3!
TIP: For an example of a well-encoded MP3 sermon, please listen to the audio for this sermon.
Note the volume level and the audio quality. If you can get your encoded audio to sound like this when you're done then you're on the right track.

The following screen shots will take you through the
process of creating an MP3 file from an Audio CD of your sermon (using the dbPowerAmp tool as an example).
RIP THE CD and CREATE THE MP3
The dbPowerAmp program will "rip" the audio off of the CD and create the proper MP3 file in one single step.
Ensure that the settings are the same as what you see below:
Clicking on the Advanced button (in step #4 above) will bring up the following window.
Please note: For 16kbps bitrate MP3s, a frequency setting of 11khz has been known to produce excellent results. Other frequency settings that some broadcasters use are: 16khz and 22khz.
For HIFI (64kbps) MP3s, a frequency setting of 44khz has been known to sound good. Whatever sounds best for your particular recordings...
However, be sure to set your channels setting to MONO.
Press OK.
Setting the "Ripping Method" to Burst and turning OFF AccurateRip gives the entire ripping process a great boost in performance.
Please refer to the above window. Once completed, click on OK.
After it has finished "ripping" the CD and encoding the audio, the resulting MP3 file will be located in the folder
that was specified above in the "Path" setting. Please note that once you have ripped your first CD, all subsequent rips
will automatically use the previous MP3 settings.
