Rev. Rick Son was born and raised in Texas. He attended Baylor University and Wayland University, where he graduated with a B.A. in Religion. He also did post-graduate work in Church History at Baylor. He was ordained to the ministry as a Southern Baptist pastor in 1979 in Waco, Texas. He then attended Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth where he graduated with an M.Div. in 1982. He has served on several church staffs in various capacities since 1973: pastor, associate pastor, minister of music, and minister of youth. His most recent service was as Associate Pastor/Minister of Music for First United Methodist Church, Mineola for the past nine years.
