Phil 2:9-11 & Isaiah 45:21b-25
THE OUTLINE:
I. God, Elohiym V.21b
1. Plurality of the word Elohiym, םיהלא refer Gen 1:1 and note the pronoun used in v26 “us”, “our”
2. There is only one God Elohiym, note the singular “me” in Isa. 45:21b
3. Elohiym is the only God Almighty (El) לא and Savior, “there is none beside me” also v.22
4. Elohiym is unchangeable, note: “god is spirit, infinite, eternal and unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness and truth.”
His word will not return to Him void and without meaning.
5. Everyone is due to worship Him. V.23
6. Every language shall confess him as their God Elohiym and Savior.
II. Jesus Christ is Lord Kurios. Phil. 2:11
1. God Theos is granting or giving Jesus Christ exaltation, that His name is above every name. V. 9. From the word huperupsowse, and has a root word huper means above, and this is highly exaltation.
Note: “given Him a name…” KJV
“granted Him a name ….” NKJV
but the Greek word used is ecarisato, echarisato, means “graciously”
So, the correct and direct English translation is “graciously given”
The exaltation, that His name is above every name is being given by God Theos “freely” by the grace of God Himself.
2. God Theos is granting Jesus Christ to be Worship, v. 10
Worship to Jesus Christ is also worship to God Theos
Contradiction?:
How can God Elohiym-Theos is going to let everyone to worship Jesus wherein He told Isaiah that He is the only God and the only one to be worship?
Does His words return to Him void and without meaning?
Does God Elohiym-Theos changed His mind? Not unchangeable?
III. The equality of Elohiym with Kurios.
1. One of the names of God Elohiym in the OT according to the context, e.g. Isaiah 45:24 is Yahweh which has been translated into Greek in Septuagint LXX as Kurios, from the word Kuros-Power.
2. In the NT, Jesus Christ is also being referred as Kurios.
3. In Phil. 2, “every tongue” glowssa, glowssa, is a language or dialect.
4. Every language should confess, acknowledge, declared that Jesus is Lord, Kurios, Yahweh. And finally according to context, Jesus is Elohiym.
Therefore, Jesus Christ is Elohiym!
IV. Application-Conclusion:
3. That Jesus Christ is God Elohiym Himself and there is no other Almighty god El and Savior.
4. That, when you say “Jesus Christ is Lord” in any language or dialect, we declare, acknowledge and confess with faith that “Jesus Christ is Elohiym God.
5. Only those who has faith and believed, those who has been called from darkness is able to say that Jesus Christ is God Elohiym. “… no man can say that Jesus is the Lord Kurios, but by the Holy Ghost.” These are the people whom the HS Pneumatos regenerates.
6. There is an assurance of salvation that Jesus Christ is the only Savior (God manifested in the flesh), the Mediator between God and men, “who gave Himself a ransom for all…”
7. Missionaries: -spread the gospel. As the objective.
-study and learn their own language/dialect
-then translate and teach them about the true religion,.
-up to the very remote part of the earth: those who live in the jungle, mountain and those besides the river.
Send them help: materials and money for expenses!
Pray for them!
8. Why God permitted to have war in Iraq?
- Salvation not only for our soldiers on our side.
- Mt. Zion finished 2 of their top gospel tract in Arabic.
- This will hinder the wickedness of Sadam Hussein
- This is only the beginning to saturate the gospel of our true Religion.
- To increase the number of believers to about 70-80% and turn to Christ as their true Religion.

If Christ is not God (the second person of the triune God) who came in flesh to reconcile man back to God not only in the essence of His person as God-man but also in His works in the Death of the Cross, ....there is no Salvation!
