A memorial service to mark the 25th anniversary of the Poppy Day Massacre in Enniskillen will be held on Remembrance Sunday at 7pm. The atrocity took place on 8 November 1987 leaving 11 innocent people dead and 63 injured. A twelfth fatality, Ronnie Hill, died after spending 13 years in a coma. It is estimated that up to 30 IRA volunteers were involved. No-one has ever been brought to justice. It is important to remember our history. It was Karl Marx who said, "The first battlefield is the re-writing of history.” There are elements within society who are trying to re-write the history books but we must oppose their efforts. We must tell of the brutality inflicted upon innocent people by blood-thirsty murderers, many of whom are not the least bit sorry for their crimes. The Lord Jesus Christ said, "ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
