“ Partial transcript of 'Love Shall Wax Cold' ”
After hearing the sermon on Lev 13, entitled "Leprosy and Satanism Part 1", I was reminded of some points by this broadcast which I like to note down for posterity bec these points mean something special for me and noting it down will also benefit other listeners. If I may be allowed to quote you, first  -"we must always be reminded that sin is the exaltation of self. Sin crushes love. Sin is getting our way, and getting what we want." -"Love on the other hand is the exaltation of others above self. In these last days, is love dead? Is love, like truth, taken outback and three bullets put thru its head?" -"Second, we must bear in mind that feelings are not an indicator of truth, but you cannot deny what you feel. When a person dies, we often forget that they enter into eternity (so we are often blase about the death of others)". -"Faith is trusting God when he does not heal." -On a personal note, I am beginning to believe that, sometimes, depression (which i have) is the love of self above others. If u google 'depression' you'll get pages upon pages telling you that depression n idleness is caused by lack of self love. But I am starting to believe that sometimes (not all the time) depression n idleness is the result of too much self love.

“ It is just so ”
strange that Anton Lavey can sum up the depravity of Christians in 9 sentences when most modern day Christians cannot even see thru their own hypocrisy. Either Lavey is an excellent observationist or perhaps God raised up Lavey (and Alaister Crowley) in the 20th century to demonstrate how lukewarm Christians have become, and to stress that we are wretched, miserable and naked and the only direction we are headed for is to be rejected by Christ n to be spued out of God's mouth. That i find is an extremely sobering thought.

journalists who attach their email to their name always n inevitably receive flak which are not at all constructive n downright rude. But it comes with the job bec they cannot please every reader so they have to train themselves to be cold abt such comments n click delete. Unlike such journalists, you are not paid to do your broadcasts n they stem from a passion to help people understand news from a believer's perspective...and therefore unconstructive flak will certainly hurt more. But remember that for every such flak, there are 80-100 people who appreciate what u do...n i'm one of them. So laugh at the flak n humour yourself at its stupidity then delete it.

“ Try Omega-3 ”
I've watched a documentary many years ago about ADHD children being treated to Omega-3 supplements and after 3 months, it seemed to work. But it did not work for me, tho it did a very good job lowering cholesterol. One remark i like to make is that I truly believe that mental illness is one of those illnesses that are similar to the physical sufferings of cancer, gout, arthritis, liver fibrosis, heart disease, stroke. Bec we live in a cursed and fallen state, and our physical bodies are decaying, our mind is decaying as well.

“ Great Sermon! ”
May i suggest verse memorisation. I'm in my 40s but when i attended youth class long time ago, we had to memorise verses. At 18, I knew the synoptic gospels by hard. But having backslid, I've forgotten a whole lot. I find verse memorisation to be (not the most important) but quite important. Also perhaps the Chapter-Summary method cld be combined with going thru the bible chronologically by portions. Like starting with the epistles, skip Revelation for now, go back to the Gospels, then Job - Psalms, first 5 books...etc. I'm only suggesting. Please don't think I'm dictating. If u do, please don't take offense. It's not meant to be so. I also remember recordings by u on how to study the bible a while back. We could refer to that in conjuction. And don't worry about your righteous indignation. If u want to see real righteous indignation tune in to Nancy Grace.

“ Fascinating ”
Well, this might not work for anyone n hence just a useless piece of comment...but i'm the type of person who eschew things which are popular. I refuse to use facebook bec it's popular, i refused to use skype for a long time bec everyone's using it but in the end i'm forced to open an acc for work, i refuse to use twitter bec it's so popular and in fact i still don't really know what twitter is. Pardon to those who use these things but they seem almost a waste of time to me. This clip abt facebook is fascinating info. I was unaware facebook users posted mundane silly stuff about themselves n fight online until i heard your podcasts on it. And now i'm more determined than ever not to use facebook :)

“ Great Sermon! ”
I am guilty, and terribly ashamed, that my love for others seem to get colder thru the years. I can only attribute it to my backsliding and my attempts to numb my emotions from nasty colleagues and the likes so that at times, if I see someone in pain, my emotions are automatically blocked to it. Do not feel bad about your feelings toward others. You are many many many many many, a zillion....more times better than I. When u talk about people in pain, I can hear your compassion and love that emanates from your heart. With regard to those like me, whose love has grown cold, only the Holy Ghost can help us regain love for one another. As for loving my enemies, that is an impossibility for me, unless I walk in the Spirit. Also, I find none of your programmes embarassing at all. They are very informative, esp when i hardly watch the telly. More important, I learn a lot about scripture from your podcasts. They help me grow spiritually. And I want to be spiritual, not carnal. With regard to talking about personal matters, I think it makes your programmes heartfelt n endearing. Bec u speak on your personal life, I feel more at ease to leave comments abt my own life. Others will no doubt feel the same too...then we can all pray for one another.

Do We Have Power?
Trevor Hammack

“ Power of Christ ”
I have just received my 1st copy of FEATURE Apr-June edition 2013 which I subscribed for 2 years. It is good to raise questions about devotionals like u did here bec it shows that those who write commentaries are also human and may not fully understand the power of God that is in us now. I have many questions about that power too, but I wld like to remark on 3 reasons for having the power. The power makes one who is spiritually dead and makes that spirit alive so that we have the power to say 'only Jesus Christ is Lord'. The power is also a seal of guarantee and a witness that we are sons and daughters of the living God. Finally the power keeps us from the wiles of the devil as it says in 1 John 5:18b "he that begotten of God keepth himself, and that wicked one TOUCHECTH HIM NOT". As to HOW TO ENGAGE that power to live a perfect life ("be ye perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect"), I TOO HAVE NO CLUE. We know we can't feel the power and the power is not experential. But WE KNOW the power is real and if the power rest in us, and we try to live Godly lives, why do majority of believers still succumb to temptations, hatred, and covetousness?

“ Prophecy ”
Speaking on prophecy, I believe many Believers held, in the past, to the pre-trib position. My feeling now is that, with the unnerving popularity of charismatism, people who call themselves christians are focussed on the here and know, on the acquisition of wealth and looking to possess 'heaven on earth'. They are not consciously expecting Christ to return for believers and to judge the quick and the dead.

“ Work on the cross ”
If I may comment on this (I'm sure u'll also receive lots of emails on this as u forecasted). I know u are aware that election is 100% correct and u are also aware that free will is 100% correct, and both go hand in hand. Both positions have dozens of verses to support them. Man cannot understand how both views can run parallel and accepts them by faith alone....only God knows. God also only knows the intricate transaction of the paying of man's sin on the cross. Our knowledge of the cross goes as far as knowing that the full wrath of God is poured on Christ who took upon Himself the sins of the world. Other than that we do not understand the complexities n spiritual intricacies that happened on the cross. And some believe that when we are in the glory, it will still be too deep for man or principalities to understand.

“ Matt 17:21 ”
It seems that some have picked up one of Jack Chick favourite verses 1Cor 10:20 where he himself interpretes it to mean 'behind every idol is a devil'. But that verse does not really say that. Then there are rather sound books on demonology like those from Kurt Koch which are EXPERIENCED BASED, stating that people into Satanism and of course possessing occultic objects will invite familiar spirits into their lives. But is it the fact that they worship Satan OR because they keep occultic items that make it a basis for their homes being a place for demon infestation? Does a christian who keep books on Wiccan symbols for reference and knowlege invite demons into their houses? I have many books on Wicca because I want to learn more abt it and avoid it. But that said, I do have an irrational fear of buying 3 dimensional objects that look suspect and esp objects linked to new age n the likes. So in ns to your qn, the verse that comes to my mind is 1Cor 10:20 and the verse that remedies Matt 17:21 where not inly prayer is involved but FASTING.

“ Great Sermon! ”
As a christian, I have been on Seroxat for more than 12 years (known as paxil in U.S.). It leads me to mania at one time and intense depression at another. Reasons for taking it in the 1st place was for 'normal' depression. But the consequences of taking it seems to be bi-polar, which is worse. Is this how a christian should live his life? It is almost impossible to abstain from Seroxat now because the withdrawal symtoms are simply awlful. Seroxat may be the cause of my slackening quiet time. Is the drug affecting my zeal for God? It has also made me emotionless. Like in mass murders, I don't feel emotion for the victims n their families. Instead i view it matter of factly, telling myself that humans are depraved n mass murder never surprises me. Is this how a christian should think? I've often wondered many times. And another 12 years down the road, would Seroxat further mess up my mind n turn me into a zombie? Anti-depressants are only tested short term, and then distributed in the mass market. But what abt the long run effect? It seems to me that the reasoning for taking these drugs ie the explanation that it allows serotonin to flow freely between neurons is purely theoretical. Can drug makers use an mri to prove that these drugs cause serotonin molecules to flow uninhibited?

“ Great Sermon! ”
I am also thankful for my faith in Christ and i hope i can always put it of utmost priority, over the things of this world, as long as i live on earth, n that is something I have asked the Lord to help me in sanctification. And exactly the gospel where 'God sacrificed himself to himself' sounds so foolish that it requires the Holy Spirit to provide spiritual discernment to an unbeliever. Which is why the world sees believers as ridiculous and treats believers with contempt. For it requires child's faith to say there is one God but God is 3 Persons. The 2nd Person sacrificed himself while the First Person poured His wrath on the 2nd Person. This is what God tells us thru his word and believers must accept every word of God as complete truth, even if we do not understand it. Why God would bother to save me, a vile depraved contemptuous worm, is also beyond my understanding. But i am so thankful n grateful for it.

“ amazon ”
I read the reviews on Amazon on this book and apparently the author concludes that soul immortality is conditional and eventually the wicked will be completely the annihilated, while the saved will live forever. Hence he is an Annihilationalist. But what is really interesting is that those who posted negative comments about this book...or negative comments on annihilationism...or who say that hell is forever, is immediately condemned by the negative ratings they receive. Doesn't this seem to suggest something wicked in the age in which we live, where everyone thinks and does what is right in their own eyes?

“ Iran? ”
Do u suppose that Iran benefits from this situation? Gaza has been prodding Israel for 2 yrs, supposedly armed by Iran, in the hopes of trying to get Israel to retaliate. With Israel now on the Gaza front, she would be distracted from Iran's nuke facility. So could the real motivation for Hamas be to give time for Iran to complete its nuclear facility? Conspiracy theory?
