Great Sermon! Lovely teaching! Love hearing the psalm at the end but have noticed a trend at the moment in some churches in which presenters seem to sing faster and do not allow the congregation to set a pace comfortable with everyone and this affects the quality and harmony of the singing adverslely
Once when my daughter was in elementary school she won an award and was presented it at a school assembly and I was invited to say something at it. I mentioned our faith in Jesus Christ and I heard a woman do a sharp intake of breath. Actually I said "our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ". Oh well once I said it what could they say about it. And for career day we asked our pastor to come & he did!
I wasn't blaming the pastor but since he was new to the congregation there maybe the previous pastor didn't set a standard and I was suggesting that since it IS an issue and him being a teacher (what pastors do) then he shouldnt have waited so long to do the very thing he is supposed to do. I think from here on out he will make sure his responsibility is done long before the last minute. I await your apology for the "shame on you comment".
Willie's wife dresses modestly according to the world's standards but not to biblical standard. And when he gave in on his daughter's homecoming dress showed he isn't living up to his role as a Godly man.
This article was a bit misleading. As someone who lives near the area, I can tell you the need for a permit was mainly due to driving down to the sand bar. Vehicles can leak oil, fluid etc. So there was a need to control how many vehicles are driving down there, to keep our waters beautiful. They could still do the baptisms but not drive down there. If they were allowed then Bubba in his beat up old truck that leaks oil would have the right to drive down there. It is open to anyone but if you want to reserve the spot for your function then yes you need a permit similar to using a park shelter house.
Churches will need to specify that weddings are for church members only and stop charging for them as church isn't a business and weddings are a religous ceremony like baptism. Wedding photographers and florists etc will need to provide wedding services based on contracts only with churches that agree with their religous beliefs of marriage and stop performing services for non Christians. Problem solved.
The one wife from Duck Dynasty wears skin tight yoga pants, short hemlines and dresses that are tight form fitting that are sleeveless and shoulderless and yet they all profess to be Christian. Rebecca St James wears skin tight leather pants & tight form fitting yoga pants & tops. But whoa to anyone who points it out. Someone maybe modest by the world's standard but its not the world's standards we are to live by. This needs to be addressed in YOUTH groups especially.
I submitted a comment previous to this and it never showed up, why? There was no profanity, etc. Just me giving examples of people who have tried to point out famous so called Christians who when you tell them what they are doing isn't modest, they and their followers go mean/crazy. Not sure why that comment wasn't allowed on here...
I am in agreement with StreetPreacher! And I am a woman! I wish we as a body had more strong men like StreetPreacher and the men in this audio, preaching the gospel truth like this! I think we as women NEED it.
Great Sermon! Amen, Amen and AMEN! I am a just turned 40 year old woman, Generation X. And I agree 110%. If I as a woman am distracted, no wonder men are! Rebecca St James tried to hop on Modest is Hottest, but someone on her facebook noticed she wears skin tight leather pants and yoga pants and tops and mentioned how that isn't modest. People were MEAN to that commentor. Alfonzo Washington, a conservative commentator who says he's a Christian, has a rock band, 20lb Sledge and says they don't degrade women, yet his youtube music video he has women in bikini's and when someone pointed it out, he called him/her a pharisee and legalistic and a liar. If we are Christians, we need to have a teachable spirit. You shall know them by their fruit. I teach my daughter you don't have to be overtly immodest to not be modest. Meaning, even if you aren't wearing a bikini or daisy dukes, that doesn't mean you are living up to Christian modesty. I work in a corporate office and I look modest and fashionable, and so does my teenage daughter. Unfortunately for single ladies, when a woman comes into church looking immodest if she is attractive, all the single guys focus their attention and desire on her, overlooking the nice modest girls.
This reminds me of a recent online discussion with a conservative "christian" pundit, Alfonzo Washington regarding his rock "christian" rock band's music video with bikini clad models. He called anyone who told him that was not Christian modesty a "legalist" and a "pharasie" and a liar.
