"Faith in the living God and his Son Jesus Christ is always the result of the new birth, and can never exist except in the regenerate. Whoever has faith is a saved man." (Charles Spurgeon ‚ÄúFaith and Regeneration‚ÄĚ)
"If salvation is the implantation of a new, infinite life in the soul, it must be a work of God. Self-caused effects can never rise above the character or qualities of their cause. "Flesh gives birth to flesh but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit," Jesus told Nicodemus. This saving grace cannot be caused by the creature, it can only come from God. Ep 2.4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)
John 6.63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth NOTHING: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that NO MAN CAN come unto me, except it were GIVEN unto him of my Father.

"Faith" as a human faculty/ability in the sinners natural estate, which some imply is carried over by the Holy Spirit unto salvation, is still salvation by works. This is a similar heresy to that of Wesley and his "Temporary" bit of grace to tickle the sinner into making a choice. These works based hypotheses behove the divine to cooperate with the sinner to accede to salvation. The ultimate result of these heresies is Liberalism. Again they seek to retain the "link human" which prevails over the divine causal. "Faith" is crucial to the Doctrine of Salvation. If it remains a human faculty then it provides [a] Boasting because one faith was stronger than another persons to procure the correct result. [b] Boasting because the essential human faculty became the device which the divine had to use unto salvation.
We must remember and teach that it is by grace, all of grace and only grace none of which comes from the sinner. None of the sinful wretched human condition.
The mortal does not - cannot do saving faith.
This RC Arminian Free Will doctrine denies man's sinful estate. 1John 1.8-10.

No not convinced Calv. U.
This is just another attempt to bring out the RCC/Arminian salvation by human (input) works connection to begin the process.
Saving Faith is the work of God the Holy Spirit and is all of a Gift from God.
The sinner in his natural estate contributes nothing towards salvation, nor does he cooperate with the Trinity to achieve this end. The merits of Christ being totally sufficient.
"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"
"O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?"
Lets not borrow from the domain of sin, dead in sins wretched estate in order to rob God!
"Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt."
