Jpw--I specifically stated that that the article was inappropriate. It was unfair. There is nothing I want from you or anyone but the TRUTH! Slavery was wicked. Suggestion: there should be an article in improving race relations. If you are seeking something that I want--that we can have articles on getting along--what God wants. So jpw, don't worry about me, worry about how your conduct should be to another person. To treat and respect all people fairly, with respect and kindness!

Mike, Mike, there you go again. It doesn't justify what the white man did to the blacks--raping, beatings, murders. Also, the white man did not have accept Africans if that is true of blacks selling blacks. Not sure about that.

I wanted to add to Chris000, and others who agree with him that slavery is a sensitive issue that should be viewed with compassion and sensitivity for blacks that were involved. I decided not to waste any more energy on this particular subject by responding to ignorance. I WILL continue to wait for a response from this website to demand why it was posted.

To the commentator Chris000, I would like to know why you made unfair comments on Slavery on a Christian website. The article is called Father of US Slavery.....I'm just wondering...I have contacted this website also. This is a sensitive issue that should be answered in a fair and caring way as a Christian.

This is for the commentator Chris000. Your comments sound extremely racist to me, an African American woman. Regardless of what this article implies, the institution of slavery was cruel and abusive. There us no justification, no excuses whatsoever of what whites did to blacks in that dark period. I am not going over the atrocities. I really don't have to in this day and age. Anyone who can read and listen and be fair to ones self know deep in his or her heart of what went on in that dark period. I do not care who disagrees with me. God knows and will judge people today who make excuses for the wickedness that happened. Also, I am going to contact this website to demand why they would post this article because it is inappropriate!

To the commentator Chris000: I am an African American Woman, and agree that there is bad in every race and therefore, your apology is accepted. Incidently, you wrote about your bad experience in a black church. Well, I have had bad experiences with all-white churches as well--not all though. So it goes both ways. Please consider and be fair before writing about a group of people.

I am a Christian and strongly agree with this article-that religious freedom is increasingly declining. Some examples are, Joelle Silver (teacher who had to remove her Bible verses from workplace), Mr. Tutka, workplace policies in general, that will not allow the word Christmas, Jesus ,God...to be in the environment. These are some if the examples that I truly beloved that religious freedom is decreasing.

I was sad and disappointed to read this about the teacher, Mr. Tutka. But I know that God will Bless him--a special blessing! A passage come also in my mind--John 17:13-26.

It was written in this article: , made perfect sense to African-Americans, said Simmons. "He was doing what the black community does: understanding the relevancy of the text for our modern context."

I am an African American and I feel this statement can apply to ALL people. The problem with Obama is his lack of understanding and lack of fear and respect for the Bible and for our precious God. And therefore, the president does Not know God.
