It is interesting that we are often inclined to think that old sinner Dawkins appears too far gone (wicked) to be saved! At least we can be thankful here in the UK that he wasn't given the opportunity to persecute believers unto death like that other unlikely character for salvation...who became the Apostle Paul! I hear that recently Dawkins, after a conversation with a Scots evangelist, accepted a a couple of CD sermons which he promised to listen too. Dawkins is thick skinned and accustomed to reading evangelical rants about himself; but remember Christopher Hitchens said before his death: “… there’s some extremely nice people [who] have said that I’m in their prayers, and I can only say that I’m touched by the thought.†It is certain that Dawkins knows the very same and has been confronted personally and directly with the good news of the gospel in such a loving manner that he was so inclined to take the gospel literature and CD's. Christ saves the very chief of sinners. Why not pray for that old sinner Richard Dawkins and may God yet grant a real concern for his eternal soul? |
