B. McCausland wrote: God's pure Word interesting that part of Burgon's "Revision" was about Unitarian impurity -- pg 514 "That, while engaged in the work of interpreting the everlasting Gospel, you should have knowingly and by choice associated with yourselves one who, not only openly denies the eternal Godhead of our LORD, but in a recent publication is the avowed assailant of that fundamental doctrine of the Christian Religion, as well as of the Inspiration of Holy Scripture itself,—filled me (and many besides myself) with astonishment and sorrow. You were respectfully memorialized on the subject; (An Unitarian Reviser of our Authorized Version, intolerable: an earnest Remonstrance and Petition,)— but you treated the representations which reached you with scornful indifference. Now therefore that you re-open the question, I will not scruple publicly to repeat that it seems to me nothing else but an insult to our Divine Master and a wrong to the Church, that the most precious part of our common Christian heritage, the pure Word of GOD, should day by day, week by week, month by month, year after year, have been thus handled; for the avowed purpose of producing a Translation which should supersede our Authorized Version." |

B. McCausland wrote: Thank you Revision Revised From page 335: Burgon quotes the "brave and faithful words of Prebendary Scrivener (Introduction, [317] p. 453), —words which deserve to become famous,— “It is no less true to fact than paradoxical in sound, that the worst corruptions to which the New Testament has ever been subjected, originated within a hundred years after it was composed: that Irenæus [A.D. 150], and the African Fathers, and the whole Western, with a portion of the Syrian Church, used far inferior manuscripts to those employed by Stunica, or Erasmus, or Stephens thirteen centuries later, when moulding the Textus Receptus.” |

B. B. McCausland wrote: "The key to being a successful false teacher is to tell as much of the truth as possible" great quote in context of 'almost true' conterfeit bible.Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find [it]. Amos 8:11-12 The Bible Version debate centers around the Word of God. What is and what is not the Word of God? Since "...faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17), knowing what is, and is not, His Word is extremely important. It is a matter of spiritual life and death. Psalm 12 tells us that the "words of the Lord are pure words" and that God will "preserve them from this generation for ever". I believe this is literal truth. I believe that God inspired the scripture writers and that the exact words of the Lord were preserved for all generations from the recording of the same, until this day. Nothing has been hidden, nothing will be uncovered because God divinely, as he promised, preserved his Word for all generations... |

B. McCausland wrote: any preacher true to the word will not be popular And a good preacher has God's WordS. "The scriptures are by their very nature a spiritually divisive entity (Heb 4:12).It must be noted that under no circumstance can an individual claim that both new versions and the KJV are the Word of God. All revisers claim that the underlying texts to the KJV are flawed and corrupted, it is their basic premise for using new Greek Texts. If one feels that the new versions are accurate representations of God's Word, then they are compelled to reject the KJV. On the other hand, if one accepts the KJV as the Word of God, then they are compelled to reject the new versions. The two stand on different foundations. The only way one can take the middle ground and say that all versions are the Word of God is to take the position that no underlying Greek text is accurate, and therefore one inaccurate, unpreserved, kind-of, sort-of Word of God is as good as the next. Any version that detracts from the Sonship, Lordship, Godliness, perfection, or primacy of our one and only Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - I want no part of it." ladybug wrote: I would NOT be so quick to exalt MacArthur, a man who has many questionable teachings and admits he has no idea when he was converted... PHIL: How old were you when you first recall sensing your need for Christ? JOHN: Well I always believed the gospel. I don't ever...I don't ever remember a time when I didn't believe the gospel. I mean, it was so wonderfully modeled by my Mom and Dad, it was so consistent. They were exactly at home what they were in the church. And what my Dad was in the pulpit he was in the house. And Christ was always very wonderful to me and inviting to me. And my Mom and Dad lived out their Christian life before me. And so, I never rebelled against it. I always knew I needed Jesus to be my Savior.... And I remember my Dad praying with me on the steps that the Lord would save me. There may have been other times that I brought it up, but that one stands out in my mind. And as to whether I was actually converted at that time, I don't know. Again, in the years following I never rebelled, I was always responsive to the things of Christ. But I don't know that they were really the dominant matters of my life and the priorities that early." Lurker wrote: dirty tricks are merely an excuse for lack of knowledge of the truth and self glorification. Pastor Hoggard on SA warns us regularly of the self glorification trap of tactics-tricks- &]]The Greek Game-shown by Dr Gipp I got good grades in Greek and played this game for years until I realized, as you say " I could spend the same time being taught of the Lord (Is 54:13)." rather than twisting /playing. or like Purpose Driven types do searching the 100+ counterfeits to "prove" my point. Hoggard repented of this too. Most "nuggets" that preachers find in the Greek exist only in the fantasy of their minds. 1st anyone who believes that the Bible is the word of God, cannot believe that it can be improved on... even by them. Most men who discover "nuggets" are filled with a prideful humility through which they believe that God is going to show them something in the Greek that no one else has found. Then they can "humbly" impress their preacher friends with their monumental "grasp" of the original language. They do not, regardless of what they say in the pulpit, really believe that the Bible is perfect as it stands, in English OR Greek. & don't read seeking correction |

Lurker wrote: Apologist's bag of dirty tricks. James White ]]White 's dirty tricks in his book If anyone would read his book several times through, a very definite set of problems surfaces over and over again. These problems caused me to question Mr. White's honesty, integrity and character. These problems are listed below. 1. The author has a double standard when dealing with groups or individuals. 2. The author misrepresents people. 3. The author frequently does not give full/objective evidence when defending his position or attacking his opponents. 4. The author's assumptions are based on scholarship that is humanistic. 5. The author has no proof for many of the statements he makes. 6. The author has no tangible final authority. 7. The author has little biblical or scriptural foundation for his beliefs. --- His non -biblical assumptions 1. Satan never in 6,000 years of biblical history influenced anyone to change anything God said. 2. No intentional textual corruption ever survived to make it into any existing greek texts. 3. Only the original writings of the biblical authors were inspired and inerrant. WHITE 's followers parrot him. |

Observer wrote: labelled the KJV's as hate speech! devil's stratagems Dilute or destroy; devilish deviceThere's an old police detective saying: If a man is lying and you keep asking him questions, he'll eventually change his story; but if a man is telling the truth, he cannot change his story no matter how many questions you ask him. Likewise, Satan is a liar, which is why he keeps changing the Bible by producing new versions; but the King James Bible tells the truth, which is why it hasn't changed since 1611. Although there have been numerous editorial revisions, there have been NO new translations of the King James Bible since 1611. . The King James Bible came from Antioch, Syria. Thank God for the unchanging Word of God in the preserved, inerrant and inspired King James Bible.
