J.C. : "God inspired the Bible, but didn't write every word" God didn't write any of it, but He inspired ALL of it. J.C. also has the "billions of years" lie as well. The very latest scientific research is beginning to prove a very young Earth. The Bible does not discriminate against women; it delineates leadership roles in the Church. Interviewer: "A lot of people point to the Bible for reasons why gay people should not be in the church, or accepted in any way." The question is flawed. The questioner obviously has no clue at all about how we are to treat people of every kind. Of course we welcome them into the Church. God through the preaching of the Word and by the conviction of the Holy Spirit will change a person's heart. We never accept as correct or condone the abhorent behavior of any person. It will happen in God's timing. We will pray for and love all people and leave the changing up to God, but if a person remains unchanged, then we have issues. While it is true that we are not called to judge people, we ARE called to discern, especially those who claim to be Believers. Then, if there is sin, the Bible has very clear direction for discipline, that most Churches today are not following. All in all, I found this to be a very sad interview and disappointing. |

A Primer for Understanding the Gospel! Outstanding sermon on not only the Salvation message, but the tenets of our Faith in general. The only thing I did not necessarily agree (maybe semantically) with is when he said "all who will believe" regarding
Christ's atonement or imputation of sins... isn't it "all who Christ came to save (elect)? Saying it the way he said it, makes it appear that we have something to do with our salvation...we can "decide" when we "want" to become saved...and I don't necessarily see that in the Bible. Just my view. I REALLY enjoy hearing John MacArthur preach! |
