IN the story, they added an amendment that would add "whereas" language noting only 6.1 million of the reported 16.2 million Southern Baptist church members attend the primary worship service of their church in a typical week. And the idea was to get pastors to tell thier churches to clean up their membership rolls. Sounds logical to me; what's the big news about that? Doesn't every church or nonprofit group keep tabs on who is in and who has left? But..of course..if they said they only had 6.1 million Real Members, they would no longer be the Largest Church Denomination in the USA! Oh horrors! Oh horrors! Let's not do that!
