Tell me Michael, Do you think God has removed or ditched His book of Psalms in the same way that the church has to use their human production of praise??
Do sinners who replace the Word of God and turn to Him with their own words and human musical entertainments, their own version of Bible - their own version of worship - to the exclusion of God's own ordained Psalms??? Do they please God?
Actually there is an entire BOOK to the effect GOD requires His praises from His people. You may not have heard of it but its called THE BOOK OF PSALMS. However if this Book which GOD Himself divinely inspired for His praise and worship is insufficient, inadequate or just plain old not good enough for you Lurker, then perhaps you should take your complaint directly to GOD Himself. You could tell Him and complain the music is simply unacceptable to you because you require a bouncy, lively and exuberant tune to effect your worship? Something to get your feet tapping and prove more entertaining for you. And complain about the lyrics used that they may be divinely inspired but they don't have the pithy, erudite and intelligent theology which you and human writers can more efficiently express. Perhaps if you analyse worship and what God likes or requires, you could present an argument for rewriting the whole Bible. If the Book of Psalms as providentially produced and provided by the Lord is inadequate in your expert opinion then removing just this one book may be the basis for writing your own entire version.
I'm sure you, Christopher, Michael and Mike et al could come up with a far better Bible.
