I do not have a problem with such prayers. We are to ask what is according to the will of God. It is the will of God that the civil government execute capital punsihment upon murderers (Gen 9:6). Given Obama's policy on abortion it seems clear that he is a murderer. Therefore the civil government should inflict the punishement prescribed in the law of God upon him. If the civil government fails to do so, it would seem reasonable to entreat the Lord that he might execute that punishment directly. It is important to remember also the historical situation. Given the history of the US, if the President of that nation approves pro abortion legislation, he is sinning against light. He cannot plead ignorance or that that nation has never known any better. It must also be remembered that his very position as president aggravates the crime. I think that one could also pray for his repentance. But that does not exclude also praying that the just penalty be exacted on his evil deeds. Both prayers would be consistent with the will of God. |
